Not a Smith but... Nice Beaver!
I need to try and make one like this for a J Frame!
Anybody ever seen a Beaver like this? Yup..... it's a Beaver Tail! Pretty sweet if I don't say so myself!

I have to admit, that wasn't what I expected, but it looks
pretty classy, anyway. That's kind of a subdued finish, is that
the norm, or did you put a special finish on it?

Thanks
It was still drying (on the back side) in this shot. I had not put any finish on it yet. I use neatsfoot oil followed with a treatment of a beeswax/natural oil mixture. Makes for a real nice but not glossy finish.

How does beaver-tail compare to cowhide for thickness? It looks
like it's fairly thin, and should make for light and comfortable carry.
It'll be interesting to see how it turns out for wheelguns. TACC1

Beaver Tail is very thin... tough, but thin. This is made by bonding the tail onto the normal front piece of the pocket holster. It doesn't add much too it at all. The back side is normal cowhide.

I'm going to have my wife try this. I hate a glossy finish.

No, sorry, I dont have a Beretta 950 for a form... I could maybe buy a blue gun if they have one, but it would probably not be worth the investment since thats one thats no longer made, and not that popular these days.
Thanks for asking!
