Default Holster for K Frame 2 1/2 inch barrel

I want a outside waist band holster for a K Frame 2 1/2 inch barrel. Leather or Kydex. Any ideas.

In my opinion, the best OWB holster for the K frame snubby is the Galco "Combat Master". This can be had in tan, maroon, or black, it is an open top holster that is extremely well built and stylish.....Beware, there is a decent amount of time you will wait for one since they are currently on backorder. I am still waiting to get mine, I have the same holster for several other Snubby's though and it is the cat's meow!

I've got a Milt Sparks summer special that I simply love. So, if I was looking at getting an outside the waistband holster, it probably would also be a Milt Sparks . . . perhaps their PMK.

I use a Don Hume "JIT Slide" for my 2" Model 64, cairries the revolver high so the muzzle is even with the bottom of the belt. When I need retention for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or canoeing, I use a Bianchi #5BH with a thumbreak retention. I actually probably use the Bianchi #5 more than any other holster, I like the idea of retention...

I have the same holsters for my 2.5 66. My only difference is I carry the JIT the most.

Lots of ideas, but what works for me, may not necessarily work for you. As do many others, I have a couple of boxes in my gun room filled with "perfect" holsters that seemed like a good idea at the time. It comes down to trial and error.

I carry a j-frame mod. 642 as a back-up sidearm, in a DeSantis pocket holster. Otherwise, I have a Fobus ankle rig for deep cover, and a Fobus paddle holster, but I very rarely carry the j-frame as a primary sidearm.

No mater what style you chose, Please remember that a classic revolver such as yours needs to be toted in a quality leather rig, with a matching belt, not in some soulless piece of plastic.

Instead of me retyping everything and tying up bandwidth just go to my recent reply at
model 65 holster
I know he can do 2.5" K frames as that's what our detectives were issued for a lot of years.
Let me know if interested and I'll get you, or anyone, his contact info.

Holsters are as personal as grips to most. We all have our preferences for sure.

While I've not tried any of the newer Kydex styles, I do know a Fobus I bought 7-8 years back for my Model 60 left rub marks on the gun. And while I didn't see any personally, I heard they werer not what you wanted for a blued gun for sure.

Simply Rugged is the answer if you want one pretty quick. Can't go wrong with Milt Sparks either. And last but far from least, keep your eye out for a Roy's Leather Goods pancake holster. Roy originated the pancake holster. I have several and won't part with them for anything.

Just my 2 cent's worth,

Murphy2000
