I just suck at proof reading on my phone.

Mine is currently set up so first click goes full power. Half click goes to 35% and half click again goes to 5%.
I don't always need 70 lumens. If I want to blind somebody I have a malkoff module in my G3 that puts out somewhere around 250 lumens. If I need to check on one of the kids I turn it to 5% and that way the other one in that room doesn't wake up.
I have the 35% power setting for when I need to see well enough but don't want all the light bounced back in my face.

I don't use the strobe feature but I think the company makes more defense oriented lights so you could have it set up to do constant on or whatever strobe effect you like. You could also set up a slow strobe mode and whatever constant output you desire and stick it in the emergency kit in your car.

It's best to blame my misspelled words on autocorrect.

I have several high-lumenr small flashlights, and set them depending on where they're kept. By the bed it's on high-power- by my den-chair it's on hi-power fast strobe- so is the one in my wife's car. I'm blessed to have 5 of them, but they're not Streamlight, fenixc, the high-DOLLAR ones- one is a Nebo I got online for like $35- I don't think I paid more then 45 for any of them. But they are all strong, made of aircraft aluminum and have the offensive-face on them- you know, the wavy, hard-steel edges around the lens area. All exceed 180 lumens, too, couple are 220.

Nowadays I keep just two keys on the keychain.
I agree. I don't carry a flashlight or pepper spray on my keyring, just a fob so I can grab the keys from my pocket. Oh, I do have really light Fox 40 whistle on my keyring.

I had an occasion to be thankful for my EDC light just last Saturday. We were under a tornado watch from 5:00 PM to Midnight on Saturday, and we lost power from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM. We also experienced high winds and a huge amount of rain. Fortunately, we have plenty of candles and flashlights and battery-powered lanterns on hand, so it was more fun than anything.

It did serve as a gentle reminder that I should pick up some of those 100 Hour Emergency Candles (I have six already on order), as well as a few more flashlights so that every person in the house can have a flashlight. My 2-year old daughter got a little frightened in the dark and with the thunder and lightening, but letting her hold a flashlight did wonders for her peace of mind.

Anyhow, I was thankful that I had started EDC'ing a pocket flashlight (a 4-Sevens Mini 123). As soon as the power went out, I immediately pulled out the flashlight from my pocket and was able to easily and safely find my way to the nearest full-size light and candles. My wife even made the comment "There's my husband with a flashlight, always prepared!" That made me feel good.

Great story B!

It sounds as if you've "seen the light" since you started this thread.

Where I sit I have 2 flashlights handy, one in my pocket, and 1 old timey oil lamp.
We have a whole shelf of oil lamps & oil for them sitting on a shelf in the basement,
with boxes of candles & stick matches, just waitin' for the "next time."

There always is a next time ya know.......

why? why have headlights on a car? why have lights in your house or fridge lol to see! , not to mention if its a quality piece it makes a great fist packer for halo punches in an emergency, also if its 180 lumens or above it can absolutely blind an attacker :-) i carry a small energizer 1w LED. super bright around 190 lumens. runs off 1 AA battery which is rechargable and small enough to fit in my pocket :-)

I see that you have already "seen the (flash)light." My take on it is:

1. It will eventually get dark outside.

2. Power failures happen, and it can get dark inside.

3. Sometimes you just have to put more light on something to see it clearly.

4. It can be advantageous to see someone without them being able to see you clearly. (Strobe options can help here.)

5. There are places under and behind things that don't get enough light for me.

6. You may not be able to get to your "bug-out-bag."

I used to carry a mini maglight every day. Ever get stuck in a subway train that's lost it's power during the summer?. People tend to become a little unedged when they are out of their comfort zone. Besides it's better to light one candle than curse the darkness. When the led flashlights came out stopped with the mini maglight and went with the leds. Frank

I always carry a mini flashlight. I can get dark indoors at any time. It's small, light, and bright. I hardly notice it.

For years and years, I've carried guns, knives and a flashlight every day. While I don't use a gun every day, there is rarely a day that goes by that I don't use my flashlight, and there is NEVER a day that I don't use a knife. That's why.

I carry a Surefire E2L Outdoorsman with me everyday. I use it everyday with my job. But even when I am not working it goes with me. Along with a knife and a phone. These are all tools I use on a daily basis.
