Default Galco Miami Classic for "N" frame Revolver

Has anyone here used the Galco S1H holster on the shoulder harness? Please relate any experience. Also, with that rig ,will the speedloader off side accomodate .45 moon clips? I'm looking for a shoulder rig for an 3-3&1/2" "N" frame revolver in .45 ACP. Thanks for any input. Nick

I have one, it works great with the lighter Semi's. Mine fits my M&P. The straps and supports are wider than the cheaper shoulder holsters, so it distributes weight better. That said an M&P and 2 mags all day is heavy on the neck muscles by the end of the day. I wear it when I am going to doing something that routinely exposes the midriff and I'm not looking for someone to see a gun. It works with jackets, loose fitting sweat shirts etc, but is obvious with tighter fitting stuff.

As you know from looking it's not a cheap set-up. I would be a little concerned the weight would be an issue after say 4-5 hours with a 40 0z or so gun, unless you have a specific need for it, OWB's are better carry IMO.

As for the moon clips, I'm no help.

A friend of mine had a Miami Classic he carried his 629 in when he went fishing. One day the snap got popped open and the gun slid out. Ploop!...right into the river, which was running pretty fast and very cloudy with glacial silt. He never found that 629.

I have one for my 3" 625-3. Works like a champ. Typical 38/357 speed loader holders work to hold moonclips. At least that is what I use.

Never carried an N frame in one but I have carried a K frame model 66 with a four inch barrel. Also carried a Glock 19, a Colt 1911 and a S&W 1911 in one.

The good thing about them is all one has to do to change carry guns is put a suitable holster on the harness.

I have a Bianchi and two Miami Classic rigs The Miami Classic feels a lot better to me than the Bianchi, no matter what I am carrying or the weight of what I carry.

45Wheelgun thanks for the direct answer to my question. It was just what I wanted to know. All others, I appreciate your responses but I already own and carry .45 autos in Miami rigs, so I'm no stranger to the set up I just wanted to know about the "N" frame revolver set up, since it is not available as a "rig" only by pieces[alacart, so to speak] and is quite expensive.Anyone else? I'm always open to more info. Nick

I carried a S&W Model 29 4" in a "Berns-Martin" rig. The down side was when I leaned over a table, desk, or counter far enough for the tip of the revolver butt to reach the top of the piece of the furniture, a slight pressure would cause the weapon to drop out of the holster. Quite possible the weight of the revolver plus the holster design caused this.
