Default Seecamp 380 pics and comparison

Hi all,

Ive been sitting on the fence about a seecamp 380 for awhile until I held a seecamp 32 at the dealers and then I was sold. I just got the gun back from the range and im completely flabbergasted its performance. I forgot to bring my target in before the range went hot so I ended up shooting the seecamp at 7 yards. This sightless pocket gun put everthing on paper! the only problem I had with it was body shots ended up bieng head shots, (something im sure I can work on). I even had one full clip cut in a straight line across my targets neck, all 7 rounds in a straight little line.

Needless to say I didnt expect this kind of performance and this is now one of my all time favorite peices. Ive included some shots with my m&p340 for size comparison. Also, the holster isnt done yet for the seecamp; I still need to add the velvet, the black stifner and darken the stamping but you get the idea. Nice CCW pocket action.

I'm sure you'll like it. I like my .32 Seecamp; surprising shooter. Wish the .380 was out when I got the .32 though.

I have shot 3 different Seecamp's ( two .32's and one .380) and all 3 had jamming issues. I also do not like they fact that they are so finicky as far as ammo is concerned. The other issue here is that IMHO the .32 and .380 are a bit under -powered for SD duty.

I know up front that others own them,, love them and carry them, but you asked for opinions and this is just mine; just saying........

Rather carry a M60 with BB +P Heavy 158's. Goes bang every time and at 1025 feet per second from a 2" barrel, I feel it is about the best there is as far as weight, size, bulk and fire-power ratios go. JMHO of course.

Nice! Never saw one on the shelf without the obligatory "Not for sale , taking orders only!" sign. I think the Kel-Tec .32 and .380 loosened up the Seecamp market. I got my Seecamp .32 LNIB w/2 mags, after someone traded it in for a Ruger .380

Waited 2 years to get my 380 Seecamp, and love that gun , it's always with me. Also have a .32 Seecamp. These guns have never had any sort of malfunction whatsoever,Larry sure knows how to build them, and worth every penny I paid for them.

I have to agree that only two types of ammo are on the approved list does suck. However it is the smallest gun by far. smaller than the LCP and the Sig 238 so its tolerances are really tight. right now its approved ammo is Winchester silvertips and Federal Hydrashocks, with these two types no jams; anything else and the gun is a jamomatic. (That info Is straight from the see camp website).

One of my problems is I love to shoot new guns frequently and with the seecamps expensive ammo it can really add up. My first range trip was 70 rounds, which equals $49 in ammo (Yikes!!!) Im a reloader and caster who is used to 4 cents a round so the sticker shock for ammo really smarts. I dont plan on putting more than 70 rounds down the pipe each range sesion so its the unfortunate price I will have to pay for the smallest pocket rocket around.

I didnt get a single jam or FTF with my new seecamp and Im also ok with the 380acp balistics. I watched some ballistic gelatin test online with the seecamp and the hydrashock went 11-13 inches after the denim and expanded. The sivertips keyhole and penetrate 11 inches in the same test. Seems acceptable for a pocket rocket.

I am on the Boberg 9mm waitlist also but I dont know if im going to buy now that I have the seecamp and the boberg certainly is bigger. Boberg Arms

i have two Seecamp 380's, one Seecamp 32 and one Seecamp 25. never have had one jamb. i carry the 380 everyday for the last year and a half. .380 is plenty of power for self defense.

Before they were taken off the approved list I ran about 25 Speer Gold dots through mine with no problems. Since then I have stuck with with the silver tips.
My LWS 380 is my favorite pocket carry. Even better with the magazine extension for a better grip.
A stainless masterpiece.

Been looking at them for a long time. Maybe someday I will be holding one. Well made and a good looking little devil.

Not to take away from the OP, but here is what I've been able to get from my LWS 32 at 15' (5 yds). Considering it has no sights, I'm pretty happy.

I'm confident that he can get at least as good of a grouping. Probably better.

Beautiful, Dan. Nice work on the leather, too!

I had a Seecamp in .25acp when they first came out, sorry I let it go; the .32 must be perfect in that niche.

Thanks man, I really like the little piece. It's the only go any were pocket gun ive ever owned. The Seecamp looks like a cell phone in your pocket. 380 is a bit much in the recoil department, after a couple mags my trigger finger is pretty much done.

I wouldn't mind having one but am not thrilled with the European style mag release.

One of the few semi autos I'd consider owning, because I like small and feel that even a J-frame is pretty bulky. I'd probably get the .32.

Its quite tiny compared even to the J frame. It really prints just like a wallet or cell phone in the pocket. The easiest gun to carry in existence.

It has been a year since my first post. Now I only shoot about 4 mags through the Seecamp at the end of every range trip. I also found that winchester white box 380 ammo feeds perfectly and purchased about 500 rounds of it. The white box feels very hot more than the Federal Hydrashocks, Winchester silvertips or Corbon DPX rounds.
