I use 2. A custom from Lobo gun leather and a 111 Cyclone from Bianchi. The 111 is for a 4". It is a little bit long but is not a problem. It works strong side or cross draw.

I have a Lobo Enhanced Pancake for my 3" 625-3. It is Detail Boned, and I have the Optional Inner Hammer Shield added to it. This is about as good as it gets in my opinion.
Lobo Gun Leather - Home

Normally Ray is running about 6 weeks out on his orders. Not bad at all for a custom holster maker.

I like strong side vertical scabbards of the famous Milt Sparks 55 BN (Bruce Nelson) design.

Almost everybody makes them.
Sparks is a long wait.
I’ve been very happy with the Kramer holsters I’ve bought. They are about a 2 month wait.

The wait times on good leather are well worth it. Just carry something else for awhile.

I actually prefer the Kramer to the Sparks 55BN as it is a little higher on the belt, and therefore easier to conceal.

Your best bet is from a custom holster maker - Grizzle, Sparks, Alessi to name a few. 4" is a little long for an IWB, although I've done it. My favorite is an Alessi CQB with slots. A pancake holster gives good concealment with a cover garment, and is comfortable and easy to draw from. Avoid an excessively high ride holster with a 4", unless you are double jointed. They don't hold the grip as tight to your side, either, and it gets worse with time. The Galco "Fletch" is an example to avoid.

80% of the retention comes from the trigger guard. I don't appreciate holsters that are over-boned. They look too fussy and sometimes hold the cylinder too tightly. The ones I cited have a good balance in that respect.

I use a Simply Rugged pancake for my 4" 29 and 629. It's comfortable and conceals well. I have a six-loop cartridge carrier, and a belt pouch with a Tuff-Strip inside. A spare tough strip in left front pocket.

I use a Threepersons from ElPaso Saddlery. It has a hammer throng instead of a strap and snap. It works great and I like it. Larry

Ryan Grizzle is building a BBQ rig for my 3/4 lug 629 3". He can build one for the full lug and he builds great holsters.
