Default IWB Advice

Planning on getting my permit after the holidays. With funds tight the only piece I will be using is my 4 inch Model 19. With boot grips it really does not seem that big. What are some good IWB holsters for a 4 inch K-frame? The two I am looking are the Uncle Mike's IWB 2 and the Bianchi Model 6. Any opinions on these?

I can't respond to the two holsters that you mention, however I carry my 2 1/2" Model 19 in a Bianchi 3S Pistol Pocket, it's a comfortable holster that conceals well.

Another option is a belly band, but get a quality brand as the cheapies are not worth it and wind up in the trash in short order.

I've tried Uncle Mike's holsters. Other than maybe the Kydex, the only ones I like are their pocket holsters (and then, only with smaller guns). Better quality (and usually more expensive) holsters just do a better job all around. They conceal better, they are more comfortable, and often they last longer.

I started with the inexpensive UM IWB. They seem like good options since they are OK for any gun of the same type and size (i.e. 3-5" K-frame, medium auto, etc.) and are inexpensive. They are OK for deciding if you like a new carry type (like IWB or OBW) as long as you give allowances for the fact that a better holster will be a better holster.

I have a couple inexpensive unmolded leather holsters from other makers and they are much better than the UM's I used to have. I have several from Galco and a couple from DeSantis that are inexpensive and competitive with UM, and they are much more comfortable holsters that do a much better job holding the gun. IMO, you'd be better off with the Bianchi. Also, check some of the custom makers, they sometimes have some non-molded "economy" versions of their more expensive holsters. High Noon Holsters for instance have some that are pretty inexpensive (some of the IWB holsters start at $29.99). I have a tuckable "Hidden Alley" for my Taurus PT 140 Millennium Pro which I like quite a bit. https://www.highnoonholsters.com/Pro...dden_ally.html

Edit: Oops, don't bother with High Noon Holsters for your purposes. I wasn't thinking. They don't have many revolver options unless it is for a J-frame/small frame revolvers, and I don't think they have any IWB holsters for K-frames.

I apologize in advance for not answering the specific question you ask.

Unless you are a particularly good sized individual and usually wear baggy clothes, I think trying to IWB a non-snubby K-frame will probably risk printing and likely be uncomfortable.

I'd say OWB pancake is a better choice. Take a look at Lobo Gun Leather.
