Can we have a thread devoted to the carry methods for J-Frames. In particular besides the ubiquitous pocket carry options can we cover shoulder holsters, belt rigs and carrying more than one J-Frame?

In particular are there DOUBLE shoulder holsters?

I first started carrying my 442 in my pocket or on my belt in a thumb break holster. Now my daily carry holster is a molded belt holster. I made a belt pouch to carry 2 loaded quikstrips but I usually just throw them in my pocket.
A forum member wanted a back pocket holster with an extended back so that when viewed it would look like the outline of a wallet.
I make my own holsters and I've some ideas. I'm planning on cutting some leather next week.
Maybe one day I'll make that double shoulder holster.

642 carried in the appendix position in a cheapo uncle mikes IWB holster.

What I like about uncle mikes is that you can unstitch the clip and reposition / restitch it so the gun rides at just the right angle and height.

I always wanted to get a Null shoulder rig. Not shure if they are still in business. Only double rig for revolvers I've ever seen was on Kojak.

I currently carry my 642 in a Galco Ankle Glove as an on-duty back up. When I carry it off-duty it rides in an Mika pocket holster. Years ago I used a Bianchi 9R shoulder holster to carry a 640.

I'm sort of old school. When I go out and don't really feel like carrying a gun, my model 36 is on the inside of my left ankle, in a very comfortable black nylon and velcro ankle holster.

As a matter of fact, when I feel like carrying a gun - or I'm doing shooting instruction - I carry a Glock 27 in an inside-the-pants holster on my strong side, but the model 36 is still on my ankle. :)

Clipdraw works very well for me, in a lot of situations. M37 and Bodyguard.

I began carrying my 642 with a clip draw. It worked fine in the appendix position.

I then started carrying it at about 3:30/4 o clock position. I was at a customer's house and bent over to grab something from the floor of my truck and my weapon fell out of my waist band. Fortunately I was wearing a sweatshirt and it got stuck there. I was able to slyly sneak it underneath the seat, close the door, and remain speaking with my customer un noticed. We all know how this could have turned out...

The clip draw easily works out (for me) with the motion of my hip bone gyrating during movements, especially bending.

I will not even sell mine because I view it as a safety hazard. Get a holster with good retention.

I guess I should apologise for suggesting it. So sorry.
Clipdraw works well for me, has for several years. Mines never caused me a problem.:)

Now in the winter primary J frame is carried in a DeSantis® Cozy Partner™ IWB @ 4 o'clock; or inside my outer jacket pocket. BUG J frame is carried in a Galco® Ankle Glove. In summer, primary carry is the same with BUG in my left front shorts pocket.

This thread makes me miss my 442... its getting trigger work done on it so Im toting my full sized (forgot how heavy the dang thing was) fnx9.

I have an outside the waistband holster for mine. Galco one that I like quite a lot. Feels weird still having it outside my pants and Im always checking to see if my clothes are riding up but its very comfortable.

My j frame is a reload - usually carried weakside in a Hume JIT slide.

Model 36 strong side 4 o'clock OWB
model 640 (38spl) uncle mikes ankle,

Or model 640 back pocket, coat pocket etc
model 640 or 642 strong side 4 o'clock OWB

favorite J is the 640, ankle, hip OWB or pockets?

Thinking the 642 may need to be re-chambered to 9mm
with full moon clips?

442 Pro Moon Clip
I belt carry in a Lobo Model 1 Pancake at 4 o'clock. My holster is Boned, and has Optional Inner Hammer Shield.
I carry either 1 or 2 reloads in TK Moon Clips infront of the holster on the belt in California Competition Works J Frame 5 Shot Shoot A Moon Carriers. (SAM)

1962 I began LE Career carrying crossdraw both on duty and off duty.
1963 after attending an FBI Training School I switch to strong side (FBI method) for on duty and off duty.
45 years later I have returned to crossdraw (Retired). I don't care for pocket carry or ankle carry as I have had real life episodes were both carry methods (different times) were too slow. I like crossdraw as the weapon is accessible standing or seated.Plus if the strong hand is injuried/not usable the weapon can be reached/drawn with the off/weak hand.

One of my 340's in pocket-carry mode in a DeSantis Nemesis and one in a Don Hume IWB, appendix-position. One or the other or both.....
