Default Side guard tuck clip vs quick clip vs minimal clip - J FRAME

I'm interested in hearing particularly from anyone who owns any of the following side guard holsters for a j frame.

I've decided to go with side guard for an IWB, but im having problems deciding between these three. Perhaps you folks could share some experience and photos?

Quick Clip

Tuck Clip

Minimal Clip

I don't doubt I would be happy with all three, but I'm looking to fulfill a number of desires.

I love the idea of having the option of tucking in my shirt, but I'm a minimalist. Is it just me or is the Tuck Clip slightly larger than the Quick Clip? Also, it seems the clip on the Tuck Clip is further to the edge of the holster than the other two. Does the effect function at all? Or the way it sits or shifts?

And what about NOT tucking with the Tuck Clip? Is the flap a nuisance in anyway? I emailed the designer and asked if perhaps he could add a button to the top of the clip so I have the option to "snap the flap"

Now with regards to the minimal clip, is it much smaller? Does the single piece leather instead of reinforced opening make reholstering difficult or impossible? Do you think this model could use a custom flap for tuck?

I plan on appendix 1 oc and 4 oc if it helps.

My don hume just sits too high and the clip on the cylinder adds bulk.

Any pics with j frames (carrying or non) are much appreciated as the Internet seems limited on these.

Thanks for your time!

David

If you talk to 5 people about holsters you will get at least 8 opinions. No matter what you decide on after you use it awhile you will decide you want something else. After a few years you end up with a big bucket of holsters. Your idea of a holster is just as good as anyone elses. Don't waste time. Just start buying. Larry

This is my third holster. I'm one step ahead of you. I'm simply enquiring about my next purchase. Considering the turn around time on these orders , I'm narrowing down my options to that I don't waste time just like you said.

The Minimal Clip is just right for my Airweight 642. I don't want a bunch of extra leather around the top. If I shoot the gun in SD, I imagine I can just slip it off my belt if I have to re-holster...not a concern for me with a five-shot J-Frame. A bargain too. Minimal Clip for the win.

The offset clip on the Quick clip and Tuck Clip gives a thinner profile, whereas on the Minimal Clip it sits over the cylinder which is the widest part of the gun. The tuckable flap will stay put behind your belt whether you tuck your shirt in it or not. And it naturally lays pretty flat against the holster when not being worn. No snap is needed. A good 1 1/2" gun belt is a must with any holster.

You don't need that big thick collar inside the pants. Go minimal. And that clip looks like it is offset enough..

I have the tuck clip. I like it a lot. the reinforced top makes it easy to reholster.
