I carry the M&P9c (same size as the 40c) as my CCW and I love it. I have only been carrying for a few days but so far so good. I carry OWB with an Old Faithful high rider. I like it a lot but need to upgrade my belt as it leans out a little and will print depending on the shirt I wear.

I also like the fact that I can use the full size magazine for home defense (once they show back up in the stores). That way I have a few more rounds at home but can still carry it with the compact mag.

I love my M&P40c. During fall/winter it is my regular carry and preferred sidearm. I have several thousand rounds through it and it performs flawlessly. I will count on it to defend myself. During warm weather (and since I am a large guy, ie too big for a comfortable IWB holster) I carry my BG.380 in a pocket holster.

I prefer J-frames as my carry piece(s). My 40C is equipped with a Crimson Trace laser, Tru-Glo fiber-optic/night sights, and a small S&W flashlight. I think it makes an excellent night stand gun - especially with an extended magazine from a full sized M&P.

Regards,

Dave

I carry a 9c every day, after going through a bunch of different holster options (Kangaroo Carry, Blackhawk, Uncle Mike, both waist and shoulder) I finally ended up with a Blade Tech OWB holster. With an untucked shirt it literally disappears and it has an open barrel end so I can use the same holster for my 9c, FS9 (4.25) and my 5" CORE, the longer barrels just poke through the bottom. Seemed to me the biggest problem was finding a holster that fit like I wanted it to. (only problem with that is a bunch of cash invested and a shelf full of unused holsters, maybe I could have a yard sale,,, nah, I'll keep 'em, never know when I might need an extra holster, no wonder my wife calls me a hoarder)

They are great CC weapons. I put Meprolights night sights on mine along with Apex hard sear kept the stock springs. Gun shoots like a laser and I love this weapon. Carry it in a BladeTech IWB Kydex. I'm 5'9" and 200 and the gun disappears under a loose T or sweatshirt. Completely gone if concealed under a vest or jacket.

My fellow firearms instructor who is a glock freak bought one after shooting mine. He carries the Smith now. 11 Rounds of 40 in a package smaller than a K frame!
