Tallahassee. Maybe a perk of living in the Capital city.
When did you get yours? Did you mail it in? Supposedly doing the application/fingerprinting/photo at the licensing office quickens things.

That's a great turnaround time. A few years ago, I received mine in about 6 weeks.

I am a retired FL LEO it took me six months. When I called, they told me only one person handles Retired guys. I had to write to the Commissioner. The bureaucrats did not like that, but the license was issued a week after I wrote. Apparently, they found a second employee.!!!!!!!

Mailed in a FLA non-res application mid June, and got it 61 days later.
Utah took an extra week.
Don't expect my Nevada resident permit until October (per clerk).

Man you guys have it good. I live in NC and took the class years ago (before all the chaos.) It took nearly 5 months for the license to arrive.

Yes, I mailed it in. It showed up in the middle of June and I mailed it in some time in April. I had to mail in the fingerprint card and photo with mine. My NRA Pistol Trainer Certification satisfied the school requirement.

Man so easy in other states... MA is a PITA... Little over 3 mths to get mine not to mention you don't know what class of license until it comes in...
8hr class with live fire. Late October
Additional CCW 8hr class the following week.
Request references for LTC application 2 weeks
Make appointment with chief for LTC, have to make in person and provide application and references at that time Waited 3weeks for appointment.
Told at appointment mid Dec LTC are 60 to 90 days out... Not to mention I didn't even talk to the chief just his secretary. Figured at that point I am screwed and the is a problem with my app and not going to get a Class A LTC...
Get call 42 days later LTC is in... Class A :woohoo:
Pick up at local PD following night. Told by officer on duty I was the only LTC Class A to from the group of licenses to come in that week and my mine was the only one in from the December application group. I must have done something right... and here I was thinking I was screwed...

There are no "classes" here in CA. What are the different classes where you live? What does "Class A" mean?
Here in CA, once you get a permit, you can carry whatever gun you want as long as it's legal to own.

It took mine exactly 60 days after I was fingerprinted. I'd taken the required 8 hr class and paid my dues at the DMV before I could get fingerprinted.
The DMV was an awful experience. Drove across town at least 3 times before I found that the waiting line didn't extend out of the building. I still stood in line about 45 min before I got the opportunity to sit down for another hour and a half before getting my number called. DMVs are overloaded with drivers licenses, carry permits, and voter ids. I hope I never have to go through that again.

Class A in MA with no restrictions let's you 1. Have high capacity mags = 10rds :what: and 2. Conceal carry. Class B no CC and no high capacity and I think no semi autos... That may apply only to rifles. then after that comes C and D usually reserved for minors and FID cards.
****** part is you can get a Class A but the Chief can restrict it to be whatever... Not allowed to carry in town, can only carry between the hours X and X, etc... You are at the mercy of the Chief of police in your town as to what license you can get and restrictions
Some towns are notoriously difficult if not impossible to get a Class A. My town is wishy washy. I guess it is the mood of the Chief that day. A lot of guys plan to appeal if they are denied or restricted once the license comes in. Oh and you have to renew every 6... The chief can revoke or restrict your license at that time. God help if you move to a tough town to. Prior licensing doesn't account for anything...
Not planning on doing anything different then to stay educated, keep my nose clean like I have done for the last 34yrs, and not move into a Red town..

in fla. it use to be,not sure if it still is,but you could send in a copy of your dd-214 from military and that would suffice for the training class,i also sent in copies of my expert marksman stuff and nuclear weapons security guard stuff just in case ,for extra credit......it worked out good.

Congratulations on your CCW License. Welcome to the club.
There is a great responsibility that goes along with it.
I live in Florida too. I don't recall exactly how long it took to get mine.
I don't think it took too long, but then again, I got it way back in 1988.

I haven't, but I hear good things. Have you been to the indoor range yet? My CCW class was taught there. Pretty nice facility.
