Default New to IWB looking for advice

Hey folks, I am not new to OWB carry but now with my CCW I will be carrying 95% of the time IWB. I have got 2 preferred weapons for my EDC. A Ruger SR9C and a Taurus PT111 Gen 2. I have an Alien Gear holster for the Ruger and I have coming a new Theis EZ Clip Holster from Tommy Theis, and I have a Tagua IPH holster for both plus a snug fit thru the belt open carry and thumb lock carry for OWB. I also have an awesome n82tactical holster from Nate x 2 that will handle all of my S&Ws and I can carry a fullsize M&P with hardly any footprint. My question is this. I have just ordered a Jake Belt from Tommy Theis and ordered it slightly larger than my pants size per his advice. Now I wear between a 38 and 40 inch waist on casual pants and 40" in jeans. Do I need to go out and buy 42" jeans now and step up in casual pants? What adjustments do you need to make because, when I am not carrying, bigger pants and the belt would fall off. I know it seems like a silly question. My OWB holsters require nothing and the foot print is nothing. I can wear a Tshirt and wear a fullsize M&P and you would barely make it out. It is IWB I am concerned with. Oh yeah I had Theis change my order to the EZ Clip instead of his old trustworthy 2 clip rig and he was kind enough to do so, so in return I will write a review on it. Any thoughts? Your advice would greatly be appreciated, and I mean from the simplest of things, from putting it on to whatever, I intend to carry at 5:00. I also will be driving alot too.
Thanks folks,
Michael

I find 5 o'clock a bit too far back for sitting in a car as the seat bolsters tend to aggravate the situation by the grip digging in to my back, so I tend to wear closer to 3:30-4. Also 5 o'clock might also make it hard to reach quickly with a seatbelt. If that does not work for you, then you might need a separate arrangement while in the car. You will just have to try it and see.

This is pretty general, but works for me as far as IWB waist sizing goes. With your belt loosened see how your slightly cupped hand fits inside the belt line where you plan to wear IWB. If it goes in easily, then you will likely be ok with those pants. If it's tight, you will likely need to go up a size. Some brands are more forgiving on their measurements for a given waist size than others.

I carry an SR9c in the Tagua holster you mention. I carry at 2:00. I wear jeans almost exclusively. I found that a nice heavy belt I picked up at Tractor Supply helps make things a little more comfortable. It's not a gun belt, but is probably as stiff, and hefty as one. I made sure I got a size that fell in the middle of the holes in the belt. I loosen my belt one notch when carrying, compared to when I am not. I don't need a size up in my jeans. They fit fairly well without my weapon, but are not overly snug. I feel absolutely no need for a larger size. YMMV depending on where you fall in fit with your pants. Carrying at a different location my require more room as well.

You have to try it. There is no correct answer. What does "casual 38" mean to you? I wear size 32-34 but sometimes the pants are fine as is while another brand with the same size waist is too tight for the holster.

Generally yes you would have to get 1-2 inches bigger but not always. Only you would know

I have all the best holsters and multiples for each gun including all of my M&Ps and SDs for IWB amd OWB, just looking for info on tips about fitting the rigs to my pants and suggestions on concealed carry, best position given the circumstances in initial thread. will probably move to a 3:00 or 4:00 position. Best position to wear to leave the least footprint etc.
