2013 Silverado Regular Cab
I just bought a 2013 Silverado regular cab. Looking for a good way/place to carry handgun, tactical 870, possibly AR15. Need to find way that keep the guns concealed (out of view) while parked. I've looked at different bags at Academy but they all scream "gun inside". I know someone has found a good solution to this simple problem.

I wish I could tell you the company that makes them but the word escapes me. In the gun magazines they have a bag that screams 'random musical instrument' on the outside in your choice of color but the inside is all range bag. Their catch phrase is hide it in plain sight. They also have random sports equipment bags shaped like a tennis racquet but holds an ar15.

I have found gun holsters that attach to your drivers seat left or right on the NRA online store in the auto section. Maybe that will help since I can remember "NRA" better than the company name

Are you wanting this just to carry back and forth to the range or for protection?

I would think a musical instrument is also a high theft item. Most instruments cost more than firearms...

Thanks for the replies. I saw the guitar case at Academy, it still looks like a gun case to me. I have a lunch box behind my seat now that looks innocent enough, but I cant get a long gun in it.

A few years ago Cabella's Fall catalog had a shelf that fit over the windshield of my F150. It matched the grey interior very well and had a kind of subdued felt covering, and a foam strip on the bottom for the gun to rest on.
It went above the sun visors and so was above the viewpoint of anybody looking into the cab. Held my double shotguns and .30-30 in reach but out of sight. It was too narrow for an AR or AK with pistol grip and magazine, or any long gun with an optic mounted. A nude 870 would be just fine. There were Velcro straps to keep the gun in place if the terrain got rough. There is no reason why an handgun would not fit very easily.
There was a minor trade-off in reduced visibility at the extreme upper portion of the windshield. (The taller you are the more this will matter).
Overall it was very satisfactory and I removed it to keep when I sold the F150. Don't have another truck yet. (Sniff).

I am not sure if your 2013 is the same as my 2003 Silverado, but as for the hand gun, I bought a relativly cheap LEFT HANDED inside the waistband holster with the metal clip.
If you look down below thw seat belt buckle on your right side it has a plastic part that keeps the buckle in a position that makes it easier to buckle the seat belt.
Clip the holster to this plastic part. your hand gun will be down well below the level of the seat cushon where it is not visible unless you are looking for it. but it is very handy to get to if you need it.

You could probably attach something behind the seat that is something like a traditional gun rack but stows the shotgun lower and out of sight. You would simply exit the truck, pull the seat forward, and pull the shotgun.
For a pistol, you could probably mount something that attaches to the seat and is positioned low, between your legs. That should probably keep your piece out of sight to all but the very most nosy of people. I would attach one of those really strong multipurpose clamps that operate like a clothespin to one of your extra holsters and simply clamp it to the bottom edge of your seat. That way you can lean over a draw it from a seated position.

Depending on where you live and what your intentions are, I would check local and state law regarding leaving guns in an unattended vehicle.
Around here a person is downright stupid in they leave a gun in a car that isn't locked up in a secure box or cabled to the seat or something like that. And Chevy AND Ford trucks are extremely easy to break into regardless of an alarm.

Sometimes I think that depending on where I am and the intentions of others, I would be stupid not to be armed. My vehicles can easily be broken into but so can my house. I am trying hard to do the right thing but there are others that are trying to do the wrong thing. I am ex law enforcement and believe me there are places where people like me should be armed, not only to protect myself but my family and others. I am responsible and I lock things up but nothing is foolproof. There are only so many locks I am going to use. There have been times when I needed to get to my tools and I needed them quickly.
