Default Car / portable safes

I remember a thread a while back where someone mentioned a portable safe similar to a Gunvault nanovault, but much better made.

The nanovaults seem like of cheap to me, and would be pretty easy to open with a pry bar.

And good ideas for a safe that can be used for keeping a gun in a vehicle and will hold up to a burglary attempt for at least a few minutes.

I like the cable attachment method, but only if the cable is well constructed.

I'm not talking about leaving a handgun in a car long term -- just for when I'm going somewhere like a post office or other type of government office or a business that prohibits concealed carry.

Pistol Vault | Gun Safe | Under The Bed Gun Safe
There is an option for unloaded carry where the magazine indexes with the pistol when the lid is opened. A great feature for those in CA that cant get a carry permit and carry the gun loaded in the car.

Just received one of the Shot Lock CCW Solo Vault. 14g steel means its tougher than similar sized safes. It doesn't include a chain but is pre drilled to use one if you desire. I personally plan on permanently attaching it to my car via bolts. Plus, it uses a simplex lock! No keys to carry, or batteries to replace. It's pricey but I suggest you check it out.

p.s. it fits my J frame perfectly.

Take a look at Console Vault | Buy Direct For Lowest Price + Free Shipping
I have one in my SUV. They are custom made to fit into
the console of your vehicle. It takes about 2 minutes to install.
One of the best investments I ever made.
