Default Customized slide plates and magazine floor plates

Now that I have a nice M&P45 and accessories are available for it that are not for my SD9

I am considering getting some laser engraved plates to customize it

I am considering the USAF logo - Grim Reaper or B-52 bomber I saw on a site that makes them.

Since I carry for defense as well as shooting it (I am a one gun kinda guy) I was wondering if you got in a justified SD situation (shooting) if that might be an issue (I guess anything can be) but would that cause more scrutiny than a stock gun?

And what about accessories like night sights - APEX trigger and other aftermarket stuff - none of them make the gun more lethal but does it somehow bring more scrutiny in criminal or perhaps civil proceedings?

Also what about an AR-15 build with customized lower?

Attorneys will try to use anything as a negative issue, but as stated in numerous threads, 'a good shoot is a good shoot'.

While something like a Punisher logo, or Grim Reaper logo might get some mileage (ie: 'he was looking for a fight" ), I don't believe etched slide plates or mag bases would cause an uproar if you went with the USAF, or B-52. Heck... I have a FD logo on my Slide Plates and my Wife has 'Stars & Stripes' plates on hers, so we can tell our guns apart without looking at the serial numbers.

Criminally, a good shooting is a good shooting. Where things like logos & such come into play is in the civil case that almost always follows any shooting now days. That goes for custom guns or handloaded ammo.

Default Slide plates, mag bases

I bought some for my BBQ Shield . Very nice. Looked at USAF, but they only had the new logo and I do not like it.

I don't think adding accessories such as night sights and a laser sighting device or grip enhancement would be an issue. Those things improve one's ability to be accurate and that is being a responsible carrier. Law enforcement organizations use such things...Provocative additions such as plates or grip panels that have images of skulls or other symbols of aggression and violence are things I would avoid. The Air Force emblem doesn't fall into that category. The American flag is similar. I prefer to avoid embellishments to my carry guns. I think of them as tools for very grave situations and eye appeal or trying to be unique has no application to that business. I think discretion is the best policy. Defending one's actions during legal procedings is stressful enough without adding a possible complication, no matter how slight.
