It's bad enough that NH allows OC and does not have mandatory training for a carry permit. Now this!
What huppen to comon sense gun control?
Moms Demand Action will be squealing like stuck hogs over this.

Okay, so the bill has been introduced in the NH Senate. That's all well and good, I suppose, if you are in favor of constitutional carry.
Since the bill's only been introduced, getting overly excited about that and the whole article written about it are what's known as counting chickens before they hatch.
If I supported constitutional carry, I wouldn't even be getting cranked up about this at this stage of the game.
Also, I take exception to the part in the linked article that talks about, "...liberty loving Northern New England, and freedom hating Southern New England." I'm pretty sure there are a whole bunch of freedom loving Southern New Englanders who'd be only too happy to show Tony Oliva how much they love their freedom if they could just get the guy in a room for a minute or two.
It doesn't make any pro-gun cause or group look good to refer to other states as "freedom hating". That's a cheap shot, and a really stupid thing to say.

AGREED, we should be sticking together, but we don't and no one knows that more than Californians and NYer's.
I'll be looking to you for assistance when people trash NYer's as they regularly do around here.
Oh, and I wasn't get overly excited, just sharing the news.

Sure, count me in, be glad to help...though I'm not sure how I could be of assistance.
I've never understood why people make fun of and/or trash other people based on what state they live in or where they're from. All my friends from New York are great people, even if they do have funny accents and are always telling us born and bred Southerners how they do it "up north".

Well... There's 'New Yorkers' from NYC... Then there's the REST of the State that catch the brunt of the 'hate'.
My In-Laws are 'Up-Staters' (Rochester area and the Adirondacks) who are very Pro 2A. They've always had my 'condolences' (and support).

If CC passes in NH it will get shot down by Governess Maggie Hassen by veto. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Sad but true.

Well folks, the CC bill passed in NH but as I predicted Gov Maggie Hassen D fully and openly announced today that she will veto it.
Unfortunately, there are not enough votes in the State Senate to over ride her veto. She has also, secretly changed us from "shall issue" to Chiefs discretion and no longer is self defense an acceptable reason to issue a Permit to Carry a Pistol or Revolver.

I'd appreciate it if you would provide some more information on this, which is news to me. I don't doubt that Queen Maggie would do it if she could, but I didn't think that sort of change could be made by executive fiat. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it here. Thanks.

Before any state can pass an open carry or constitutional carry* law they need a willing legislature AND a willing governor, unless there is a sufficient number of votes to override a veto.
I'm not a fan of open carry - I mean doing it, not having it legal - but it does comport with the Second Amendment's guarantee.
*I still can't exactly figure out what constitutional carry is. Carry anything, anytime, no restrictions? Something less than that? Help a buddy out here......

Jim, please explain where you got the chief's discretion part of your last post as I don't believe that to be the case. I think you are confusing what happened in MA with what is going on in NH.Yiogo.
