I didn't realize some drones had the capability of carrying so much weight as what was shown in the one video. I can see where they could be a lot of fun, but can also cause a lot of trouble if the pilot doesn't use common sense.

Well, the charge of wanton endangerment against Mr. Merideth
for dis-charging a firearm with-in the city limits, as an apparent
violation of a Shepherdsville, KY (city ordnance) was dismissed
by the Bullitt County District Judge. As was the charge of
criminal mischief for the damage to the drone.

So, maybe new legislation in the Commonwealth will help settle these drone fiascos.

The justifiable use of force....in the heat of passion????

I can see where they could be a kick to play with in the right location. Hovering around my windows isn't the right location. Doubt they would appreciate me doing my hobby in their yard. Might get noisy.

It's important to remember that while there have been several de-railings of this post (I'm even guilty of a couple) the original post was about a man who shot a drone down after it hovered over his children for @ 5 mins., was observed by five families flying over their yards and flying under one families porch overhang to see what was on the porch. One neighbors 16 yr old daughter was sunbathing by their pool and reported it to her father.

This was not a case of "good ol' boys just out having fun".

Just keep the ol break barrel or pump pellet gun loaded by the back door. It'll be up in the air so you can actually run one pellet as designed then drop a few bbs down the barrel and presto instant mini shotgun. I have an old school crossman pump pistol same as the one I had as a kid and I'm here to tell you with a half dozen bbs in it at once and a hundred pumps it'll deal with arial pests slick as all git out. And quiet too so no one knows where it came from.

My neighbors would have a stroke if I roll out the door with the Saiga12 and "dispatch" a problem shall we say. That things like a can of Pringles. You can't do just one
