Then tell him he's a major part of the 'egocentric judgmental moron' problem in the country, and that you'd prefer he stay far away from you in case his ignorance is contagious.

Ultimately I'd avoid the guy. If the other friend invites you to an event and the guy you're arguing with is going to be there tell the first guy you can't make it.
I don't associate with people I don't like unless I have to

Plenty of guys at the Club got a carry permit over the years just so they knew it would't be a problem toting guns in the car going to and from the Club or to keep one in the glovebox. No interest whatsoever to carry.

Phil, I haven't checked the statistics in quite some time. But it may be more than 3% of the population of TX now. Every time Obama gets on his high horse about gun control they get a lot more CHL apps than they can handle. We did a class at our church on 4-18-15 and most did not get their licenses until July. Out of 31 students there is one who still won't carry. DPS says 40% of licensees do not carry all the time, but he's the first who won't carry at all.

Forget which States...... but only a handful of States have issued concealed carry "permits" to more than 5% of their population...... I think the highest is in the 8-9% range.

Right. The numbers are a small fraction of the population. Tennessee is around 9% which is among the highest in the nation. Still, I bet half don't carry hardly at all. Tennessee has now made legal having a loaded handgun in the car without a HCP. I wouldn't be surprised to see that percentage drift downward.
Here is data by state, total numbers and ranked by percentage. Most of the data looks to be for 2013 and 2014. Like Badge531 says the numbers are probably a bit higher today. Still, a small fraction.

As others have said, just don't talk about the fact you carry around people you don't really, really know and even then not a lot.
As for the guy being a "liberal" I can't say if he is, but know several liberal's who own and carry guns. I also know several conservatives who don't own or carry because "no one needs a gun except cops and criminals".

Never pass up a perfectly good opportunity to keep your mouth shut. Discussions with strangers about your gun ownership and concealed carry practices are one such opportunity.

I don't bother with movies anymore, not because of any danger, but because of all the adds and they are so damn LOUD. When it hurts your ears you aren't having fun. Besides movies come out on dvd or other venues so soon it doesn't matter anymore.

This whole debate of who does and does not know if you carry concealed or not reminds me of the 1992 presidential campaign when MTV asked Bill Clinton the big question . . . boxers or briefs?
My answer: outside of my wife, it's no one's business.

Believe me, I don't want to know about your boxers. Or briefs.

Ha! And I don't want you to know what I'm carrying next to them either.

I found what I consider a good thing, since I have started with this concealed and shooting thing. I have plenty of people and more to come who since I purchased my firearm, have bought them one. My 72 year old aunt is even want to start shopping for one for home defense. My bro in law (paralegal), my sister ( teacher), her youngest daughter who is a single mother, and just moved out on her own, my wife, best friend from high school(trucker), my boss( transportation director). 3 of my racing buddies. So I hope that makes some of me talking about my stuff better.

Nobody on this planet knows I carry except for the folks who wrote "good moral character" letters needed for my CCW, my wife, and one of my 6 siblings - who also carries. I kind of like it that way. As said before, concealed means concealed.

Apparently, this individual has never heard the name "James Holmes". But then ignorance is the lifeblood of anti-gun nuttery.

Tell them to memorize the following: - Police have no legal duty to protect individuals.
- Police have no legal liability when they fail to protect individuals.
- 1 and 2 above are moot anyway, because police have no physical ability to protect individuals to whom they're not assigned as bodyguards. They drive police cars, not TARDISes. They can't keep doing it over until they get there in time.

I would avoid any conversation with this person, but if it is unavoidable and he brings up the paranoid argument ask him if he keeps his smoke detectors in operable order in his house or apartment. If he does tell him he's even more paranoid that you because statistically you are over 5 times more likely to be murdered during an assault than you are to die in a house fire.
For some reason most anti-gun folks view keeping firearm and smoke detectors for protection as reasonable precautions but keeping firearms for personal protection is just plain paranoid.

A quick note about the new breed of Saul Alinsky Liberals (insert socialist, facist, etc.): It's not enough for you to listen to their point of view, moreover, it's not enough for you to be cooperative, You have to BELIEVE their point of view and teachings for them to accept you.
Our country has degraded to the point where governments (state and local) are taking up the mantle against bakers, or whomever disagrees with them about (insert cause here).
Truly sickening how the First Amendment is being subverted to their cause.

That's why I derive so much amusement from simply telling them "no". They just come unglued, and that gives me so much to work with!
