My only carry .45 these days are a Sig P220 KC, 1992 model. But I don't take it out often. While hunting I carry a Glock 21, Gen 4. I've also got a Kimber but it rarely leaves the safe.

Discrete carry with a .45 lends itself to the pistol. Less discretion allows the revolver:

This is my pre-Series '70 Combat Commander in a Milt Sparks Summer Special. I acquired this gun years ago from a retired chief of police from California. It was also his daily carry. It's in remarkably good condition given it's prior use.

My two carry 45s, but...
The Les Baer Thunder Ranch is a very comfortable and easy to handle carry gun, albeit a bit on the large size.
But I continue to work with my Bowie modified M&P45 with the Trijicon RMR02 sight. Same battery has been in this for 5 years. So far very reliable, accurate and easy to shoot, but still some trepidation in carrying an electronic sight. Old fashioned I guess.

My carry .45 is a Kimber CDP Pro with a few modifications and years of wear. It rides in in leather by Milt Sparks.

While I own 5 S&W 1911's my EDC is a Springfield XDS .45acp. Little 3.3" dude snuggles right into the small of my back. Counting the one in the chamber I have 6 rounds ready plus I always carry another 5rd. magazine in my pocket.

Para LDA Carry
I carry several depending on weather but the .45 Para most of the time. It was black, sent to Ford's gunsmithing and plating in Crystal River Fl. They do absolutely great work.
Top gun is an older Colt Delta Gold Cup 10mm. Original finish was blued. Sent to Ford's for their Master Blue. Beautiful finish dark blue to almost black.

This is going to be my Carry gun once I break it in fully.
Sig Sauer P227 SAS.
Holds 10 rounds, chambered in 45acp.
I also have three 1911s that I carry from time to time.
This Colt series 70 that has been modified well, and I picked it up for a good price considering the work and parts put into it. It has been milled for night sights and has a match grade Wilson Combat Bushing. A match grade aluminum trigger and other good parts like I mentioned.
I sometimes carry this Kimber, I have had some external work done it, but the insides are stock. Very accurate gun.
This Caspian Full house custom. The best gun I own.

Bruce, it looks your retention straps should be going between the hammer and frame instead of against the grip safety. Neither of those holsters appear to be made for the 1911 because they don't protect the trigger and the retention straps are actually activating your grip safety!
I view this as a serious safety concern if you carry cocked and locked as the 1911 was intended. Please check this.

If "pretty is as pretty does" ever described a firearm, a Glock with plastic holster would sure fill the bill. I carry the Glock 30SF as a backup to the Glock 41 as the full size 13 round magazine will reload the 10 round Glock 30SF. I frequently use Blackhawk or Blade-Tech holsters. Ugly but functional!

Well, here's the .45 that I carry sometimes. It's a Para-Ordnance P12 LDA, made in Canada of all places. Now the company wants to be called just Para USA. I think Para-Ordnance sounds better but that's just me. I have owned this pistol for about 15 years. Sometimes I carry it in a leather Blackhawk CQC holster but when I'm riding my motorcycle or being more active, I wear the DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard.
This is a very reliable pistol but it's heavy and is also used as a home security piece along with a separate 15 round magazine.

I view this as a serious safety concern if you carry cocked and locked as the 1911 was intended. Please check this.

No sir, those are 1911 holsters from the days when life was simpler and men took responsibility for their own actions. Have owned and own several 1911 holsters with the trigger uncovered. Probably the one by AW Brill is the best example of the type.
My old patrol rig from Kilpatrick, Laredo, Tx and 1911.....
