My favorite restaurant put up a 30-07
Me and my family went Saturday to my favorite restaurant in Ft. Worth, Texas "JOE T GARCIA'S". I was shocked to see they had installed a 30-07 sign at the front entrance. I guess it could have been worse. There could have been an 30-06 sign setting beside it. At least they did not go that far.
I'm really disappointed in them. In Ft. Worth, Texas of all places.

Did they have a 30-06 sign next to the 30-07 sign?
30-07 sign by it self just means no open carry.

Probably fortunate that they did not order the 30-06 sign at the same time. Seems to imply that they have a concern for the comfort of staff and other patrons with open carry. I have seen a few posts where the business is ordering the 30-06 at the same time as the 30-07.

That's too bad. Especially seeing that in Texas. Since the open carry went into effect, I have seen a total of 2 open carrys, and I've been in and around a lot of folks. I think it's going to take awhile for those that can,to feel "comfortable" open carrying. I know I would rather conceal than open carry just so I have the"upper hand" so to speak if SHTF. I hope that never happens, but I don't see t h e reason to advertise. But...to each his own.

Well, it's sad that hysteria has no bounds.....
But, on the lighter side, my money has boundaries, and I don't spend it in un-friendly places.
I'm not the least bashful about letting establishments know of my disappointment in their policies.
There's a new favorite eat joint jest around the corner most times.
I don't always open carry....I was dinning with the family at rather popular restaurant.
While sitting at the table, unbeknownst to me, my wind breaker style jacket had ridden up
over my holstered revolver.
Our ever-so-kind waiter, as he was refilling my water glass,
whispered " Those are some nice looking stocks on your Smith....Looks like Keith Brown's work."
I sed, "Yes they are...Thank you for noticing!"
I dine there often now.

It's about the furniture
One of my coworkers' father owned a little cafe in a small Wyoming town where open carry was the norm. Handguns and spurs were required to be checked at the door. Both were hard on the chairs.

In my state it is easy to get a CWP unless you have a DV conviction or a felony. Also there are so many fine guns that can be carried concealed I have never understood the compulsion some people have to openly carry a gun when they know a lot of other people are going to get freaked out seeing it. Why freak out soccer moms and Democrats when you don't need to? A concealed gun doesn't shout out to a bad guy that you are packing. A gun is useful but the element of surprise priceless if somebody tried to mug or assault you. In a recent barbershop holdup down here to two crooks didn't know among the customers they were trying to hold up there were two CWP holders. It turned out quite poorly for the thugs.
