NY and Penn gun agreement!!!!!!!
Pistol permit agreement made between New York and Pennsylvania -
Sounds like a nice victory for New York & Penn residents!
Do to copyright rules I cannot cut and past info about this but what it says is Penn and NY have entered into a reciprocal agreement regarding guns, but I can put out a link.
If I did this right check out this link.. This sure as poop does not sound like anything New York likes to do

It's a good start, but it won't allow for carry back and forth except in certain situations . So it's only useful IF you meet the qualifications involved in the agreement.

I would not expect NY to make it easy for CCW anytime in the near future. Reciprocity with NY and MD would be outstanding for Pennsylvania residents that require transit through those states. The change you have provided is a move in the right direction but it is about as small a step as NY could concede.

A baby step, but one nonetheless. In Putnam County, being on the border with CT, they will issue a CC license if you have a business in the county and live in CT.
I thought that was impossible, being NY and all, and being the patchwork system that the state is, but since we have pro-gun judges and a pro gun Sheriff in the county, that is reality and has been for awhile.

Off topic here a little bit, but did anyone watch the video? You can tell the guy holding what looked like a Jennings or Lorcin didn't know squat about firearms. Who racks the slide with their finger on the trigger - talk about a no no!
Cheers!

Just came back from a visit to my daughter and SIL in Pittsburgh yesterday and on the way back I stopped at the Lycoming county sherriff's office and got my Pennsylvania permit to carry. Pretty painless (compared to NY). $20 for 5 years. Gives me 33 states with Utah, PA and NY.
Stay safe, John

I did the same thing back in February. I stopped in Reading, PA and got a PA permit. It took 10 minutes from start to finish, cost $20.00, and is good for 5 years.
Not all sheriffs in PA will accept applications from non county residents, so you have to check on the sheriff's web site.

In the 60s and 70s it was fairly easy to get a NYC target permit that allowed pistols to be owned but not carried loaded. The target permit allowed to transport unloaded and cased from home to range.
When I retired from the NYPD and transitioned to a NYC carry permit I learned that the NYC permit was good throughout NY state but the permits from outside the city were not good in the city.
I don't know what the regulations are now.
If you have a NYC permit don't let it lapse;it may be impossible to renew after it has expired.

That's still the situation.

Yeah, you're right. I went to the Sherriff's office in downtown Pittsburgh the day before to get it and they refused me. I forget what county that is but they did give me 2 other counties to get it. Just randomly stopped in Lycoming county on the way to my other daughter's in Ithaca. Guess I lucked out.
Stay safe, John

Broome County will upgrade a permit issued in that county from target and hunting to full carry with a CCW course taught by an instructor from their approved list of instructors. I am one of those instructors and have been doing it since 1994. It will still be at the discretion of the county court judge, but I have not had one denied from my classes to date.
