Default New Hampshire Constitutional Carry

Well, the New Hampshire legislature is again trying to restore full 2nd Amendment Rights to the People of New Hampshire:

Senate approves 'constitutional carry' | New Hampshire

They passed this last year and their governor, Maggie Hassan, vetoed it. She's promising the same tragic action again this year.

I guess the will of the People and Legislature mean nothing in the so-called "Live Free Or Die" state. Maybe they should change their motto to "The Cower And Hide" state...

Guess again. The will of the people was carried out by their elected representatives in the state legislature who passed the bill.

The flip side of that is that Governor Hassan may exercise the powers vested in that office by the people of New Hampshire and veto the bill.

This is called politics (among other things)

There may be enough votes to override her veto this time around...that remains to be seen.

There's absolutely no reason to badmouth all the people in the state, or the state itself, because of actions that may be taken by one elected official.

Those New Hampshire people who worked hard for the bill's passage, including the members of the legislature who voted for it, might be really offended by that whole "cower and hide" thing

Exactly. With supporters voicing their attitude like this, constitutional carry doesn't need a lot of enemies.

The solution is pretty simple. Find a majority to elect a governor who won't veto the next bill, and all will be well. Of course, you don't do that with insults, but by building support. That's how democracy works.

Oh, both of you get a grip ... I was decrying Hassan's disdain for the will of the People and legislature of New Hampshire. But, bad mouth me, if it makes you feel like some kind of swashbuckling heros.

Yup, that's what I read into your post, looked pretty clear to me... And I agree, what a shame that the Govenor felt that she needed to override the people and legislature. I suppose she's within her legal rights to do this, and the Govenor is also elected. But, it is an abomination to the citizens and the representatives that were elected by these people to rule this way when it concerns a constitutional right of the people.

Sadly, the great state of NH is slowly succumbing to the freedom numbing influence of an expanding greater Boston population. Southern NH is really that way, and that's how you get a Govenor Hassan in office...

When KS passed the concealed carry bill, Gov. Sebelius vetoed it. We over rode her veto. Now we have constitutional carry. Have faith, keep working hard. It will come.

Same here in AZ !! We tried to get a "CCW permit system" for a long time. Then, in 1994, Gov. Symington signed a CCW bill into law. Then, 16 years later, Gov. Brewer signed CC into law !!! I remember when CCW was first considered, in apx. 1980 !! So it took, more or less, 31 YEARS to achieve our full rights !!! I know it's tough, but patience & hard work DO pay off !!! BTW, AZ HAD (and still has) permitless open carry !!!

Here in Illinois we fought and fought all the way to the Supreme court and then had to get the state off their butt's to get a law approved ..

Wasn't the best in the land but we are working to change that making it better .. slowly !!

While up in Chicago where gun laws are much more stringent 80 people were shot this weekend in Chicago area .. mothers crying for their gang banging babies and no one saw nutin !! the stricter the gun laws the higher the head count .. shootings up 55% ..

Glad I live down state !!

Default Hassan Strikes Another Blow For Oppression!

Well, as expected, Governor Maggie Hassan has again rejected freedom, liberty, and the 2nd amendment to the US Constitution by vetoing Constitutional Carry legislation in NH:

New Hampshire

I wish our NH friends well.
