Jim, I hope I didn't ever cause you any pain.
But I bet you do need another gun - because everyone does!

First of all, Welcome to the forum. I will tell you that entering here is stepping out onto the slippery slide.
I was perfectly happy with two S&W revolvers for over 40 years until I stumbled on this place..Now I'll just say I've got a bunch.
You are merely singing the first verse. There's a huge bunch of us singing the chorus down at the bottom of the slope.
We'll wait down here for your imminent arrival.

Welcome to the asylum. But if you are expecting any sympathy from this group you are in for a rude awakening. *s*

welcome to the forum!
If you feel like you need more structure in your slide down the previously mentioned slope, there's always this list; which of course can be modified to suit your needs & wants
Cool weather carry
Hot weather carry
Dress carry
Home defense shotgun
Hunting shotgun (if you're so inclined)
Hunting rifle (if you're so inclined)
1911 of your choice (no collection is complete without it)
Truck gun (incase you leave the house without the carry of your choice)
Revolver (again no collection is complete without one)
Just an example! Enjoy the slide

Seriously? You're pi$$ing and moaning about having to buy a Shield this or Walther that? I'm chasing down 3954s and 4506 dash this, slash that, because of these S&W morons and you're upset about chasing factory guns! You're killing me!
I bought a gun over the phone, from a pawn shop in who knows where, based on a ****** text picture, just because i wanted the blued version of some obsolete S&W pistol and the price wasn't horrible. I can't wait to see what that thing looks like when I get it...

Iggy's "slippery slope" is not just applicable to S&W.
Guns that EVERYONE should own (in alphabetical order by make):
Browning High Power
Colt 1911
CZ75B
Glock 19
HK 45
Ruger Mk III 22 Auto
SIG Sauer M11A1
S&W Models 442/642, 10/64, 17/617, 686, 29/629, 39-2, 5906, M&P9, 4506
Walther PPK, P99
Now, give us a report this time next year!

Iggy, you forgot to mention the slope is very well greased. PS The 45 Shield is next.

What makes this worse...is....I'm not a newbie on this forum!! I've been here awhile....used to look at what ya'll were...buying....scrimping to save to get "that"gun!! I would look at my guns ...smile & say....such a bunch of...faint hearted whimps!! I was SMUG & superior....THEN THAT "little voice!!!Forget that slight slope....I'm considering doing a swan dive right to the bottom!I have $$$ point me to the nearest gun show....or gun store.....or even Bass Pro!

Nobody needs a new gun, but it is a good diet plan. Spend your food money on guns, and then you lose weight. Also, the guns last longer than a Big Mac.

Jimmy,
The next meeting of Gun Owners Anonymous is having their group addiction meeting at the local range tonight at 7p. I hear that there will be a factory rep from Sig present. Next week's guest speaker is supposed to be from Dillon Precision, while the following week's speaker is supposed to be from Federal Cartridge.

I started with my M&P 40 for home protection, then of course got my ccw and had to get a BG380 for my pockets, until I needed my shield 9 for something a little bigger on my side. Ya, feel your pain. No sympathy though. Just figuring out what I NEED next.

But isn't it nice to envision all of those nice, shiny hand guns laid alongside that beautiful AR15 that you're so fond of?

Jim, you will meet the finest group of pistol or revolver folks here. Now I gotta warn you that they are the worst enablers in the world. You start owning one pistol or revolver and next thing you know you''re looking for a safe then they tell you that safe ain't big enough. So now you are looking for a much larger safe to stash all your hand held firearms. And don't even get them started on rifles or shotguns. you will be looking for another house. Frank

Jim, the enablers of this forum have caused me to buy 3... that's right, three.... Model 27-2 357 Magnum, the finest handgun in the world, in two days.... Yep. A little over three grand. If you are looking for help here, you'll get it. It just isn't going to be the kind of help that you might need/want....

Hey, I can help get you off of the S&W buying frenzy.
There is a bunch of High Powers on the market right now.
Good shooters from the mid $300 range on up to high dollars.
It's a great time to sample that classic!
There now, don't you feel better already?
