I am looking for a decent CCW holster for my 649, I have looked at the Bianchi 55 and the Desantis pancake holsters. Most of the Galcos will not fit a 649 because of the hump.

Anyone have any other Ideas, I like the BCO Gaylord IWB, but have not called to see if it will fit the 649.

649 in a Desantis 002 02 speed scabbard - screw adjustable retention (around trigger guard). You can just see barely muzzle flush with leather.

Sorry, just realized there are different caliber 649s... mine is a .357 with 2.125" barrel and full lug and this Desantis feels like it was molded around this J-frame. My .38 638 Airweight frame and cylinder are of the same dimensions, but the barrel/lug is obviously shorter and with less volume. As such, my 638 feels a hair "looser" in the holster but it's perfectly fine on the retention (adjustable from too loose to too tight), since the trigger guards are the same. I think you'll find this with any "J-frame" holster though - they'll usually size them for the largest in the series.

Rides high and tight. Leather with an elastic closure at the front.
