Default Burris FASTFIRE reflex red dot scope

Anyone familiar with this scope? Does it put a red dot on the target?

Yes, very good micro dots. Much prefer the gen III over the earlier versions. The III version allows you to change the battery from the top, huge benefit, abd self adjust illumination. I have them on a Glock 19 MOS, Yugo M92, and 9mm AR. I've also run them on Saiga 12's and pump shotguns. Hold up well.

I've got a FF III mounted on a Ruger.

I like the small overall size and light weight, but I don't think that much of the optic itself. It's not 1x, it's 1.07x and combined with the curved glass suffers a degree of distortion that's annoying to me. Unless the miniature size is the overriding criteria I'd look elsewhere. That said, I've talked to others who say they don't notice any distortion.

It does not. Like any other red dot, a laser or other emitter projects a beam of light onto a lens, which reflects it back to the shooter's eye.
