Constitutional carry
Yesterday Missouri passed a Constitutional carry bill over riding the governor's veto. So as of Jan 1 2017 we carry in MO without a permit.

The fears of the gun grabbers were unfounded; Kansas did not revert to the Wild West the day after constitutional carry was implemented.
Our Governor has made a few questionable decisions, constitutional carry was not one of them.

Lots of other good things in this bill as well, including Stand Your Ground expansion and lifetime CCW permits . . .

Congratulations!
We have it here in West Virginia too.
However, we still need to get permits for reciprocity with VA.

Still hoping they do this here in Michigan. It was proposed in a Bill to the legislature last February and haven't heard a word about it since.
Maybe they're waiting until after November. Not sure.

From what I've read permits will still be required to carry in many places, such as St. Louis County. Does that still count as "Constitutional carry"?

Sounds like the places you may need the law the most, the law doesn't apply?

I'm not surprised since I done and went and paid all that money for the training and the paperwork and gas and beer to get mine. I guess it will come in handy though when I travel to other states. What all is involved in getting a lifetime permit? Do you know Muss? That sounds like a good deal to me.
Peace,
Gordon

Lifetime permit costs $500 and is valid only in Missouri.

I love it when the left, despite alleged polls in their favor, get overturned. Still a good idea to have a permit for those occasions when one may travel to reciprocal states. And training should be a responsibility for everyone.

I went to college in Fulton in the '70s.
Good for Missouri.
Missouri is always on my list of possible places for a job.
This only reinforces that.

The "Show Me" state has certainly shown the correct path for other states to follow. Well done!
With Missouri, is that now 9 or 10 Constitutional Carry states?

And article I saw said 11, although a couple are "sort of". From gunlaws.com,
Vermont has had Constitutional Carry since the nation's founding in 1791 -- they never enacted any law banning the right to discreetly bear arms.
Montana enacted Constitutional Carry in 1991, for all areas
outside city limits (99.4% of the state), and is working on the rest.
Alaska enacted Constitutional Carry in 2003.
Texas enacted Constitutional Carry "light" in 2007.
as the "Motorist Protection Act," freeing people to carry in their vehicles, and to and from their vehicles and their homes, land or business.
Arizona got full Constitutional Carry in 2010,
and the sky has not fallen, despite desperate fears to the contrary.
Wyoming enacted Constitutional Carry for residents in 2011.
Arkansas passed HB1700 (Act 746) on August 16, 2013 to get Constitutional Carry.
Kansas pushed Constitutional Carry through with widespread support in 2015.
West Virginia had to override the Governor's veto to pass the law in early March 2016.
Idaho pushed it through and got it signed later in March 2016.
Mississippi succeeded in enacting Constitutional Carry in April 2016.
I don't count Texas and Wyoming is for residents only. It's amazing how many states have enacted it over the last 7 1/2 or so years.

I live in missouri and I thought I read that after the veto, the law becomes effective 30 days from the over ride. Either way, glad to see the governor overridden. He's been the most over ridden for a reason. I hope more states take this route. It's sad that we have to fight for a right like this.
