P99. That's different.

Let me be the first and probably the only one to give you a head up on the fact that with 1 (ONE) post ...AND first post....... asking about pics of EDC will get you a lot of pictures of sinking ships/boats and other floatation devices.

I'm indifferent to it but a lot of peeps here aren't

You mean with the AIWB carry location? I have no issues at all. Very comfortable. Doesn't dig in to my stomach or legs at all. Both ride high enough to not impact my legs. Comfy standing, sitting , in car, lounging on couch, and am still able to bend at the waist.
If your joking about the pic of Gear on toilet seat...just wanted a white background for the pic with so many black items.

Lotta paranoid folks on here? That's a shame I must say. What could possibly be the fear? Afraid someone is gonna track down your IP address and come to confiscate your legally owned firearms? If interested I've been a member on the Walther forum since 2012 with around 950 posts same screen name there. Just thought I might like it here as well. Perhaps not.

I can see that. Rest assured though it's the most comfortable setup I've tried. Behind the hip never worked for me. Bothered me in a car and always seemed to print a bit especially bending or reaching. Never liked always having to be conscious of those movements. AIWB conceals better for me and is also easier to draw from a seated posting like in the car.

Care to elaborate? Is it just because I carry a Walther? If it helps any it was imported by Smith and Wesson and bears the name on the right of the slide.

Doesn't have anything to do with the make of the pistol. It's okay to like other brands. The pistol is riding very high, which is a little unusual for IWB carry in my experience. Both the magazine and the pistol have indented your belly, and that combined with the sweat and friction caused by big pieces of metal and plastic rubbing against skin would be very irritating to me. Painful, on several levels.

Don't know what else to say. If it was at all uncomfortable I wouldn't carry that way. I actually prefer the pistol to ride on the higher side. Both allows easy access with a full during grip as well as preventing from the muzzle end digging into my leg while sitting. The mag is covered all the way in the back by the soft Sticky mag pouch so no discomfort there either. My sense is that neither of you guys carries AIWB as there is nothing atypical about my setup for that carry position. Different strokes I guess right? So far I can't say this is very welcoming here. Unlike the Walther forum so far nothing but criticism and fear that I might have some nefarious reason for starting this thread. Disappointed to say the least. I just like seeing other people's EDC setup.

Welcome to the forum! I tried AIWB, but its not for me. I will admit there is some advantages over 4:00 position, however.

Don't make assumptions about other people. Lots of people here have been carrying concealed for a lot of years in a variety of ways. I carry a 60-14 or a 637 in a Galco Tuck and Go. Rides much lower and doesn't push out like I suspect the handle of that Walther does when you sit down.

Don't get defensive. Nobody is trying to make you feel unwelcome. We love fellow S&W enthusiasts, but we also tend to offer a lot of unsolicited constructive criticism. That's the nature of the internet. You can't throw a picture of a rig out and not expect return fire from people who think that it looks like it hurts, and I gotta be honest, I'm pretty sure that's the first picture of . . . . I've seen on here. There will be some along who think it works just fine and carry the same way. More power to 'em.

Pic removed as it was derailing the intent of this thread. And you mean assumptions like it's painful after I've stayed several times it's not. Or assumptions like the grip pushes out when I sit which also is not the case?

I carry a J frame IWB every day at about the 4 o'clock position.
Wasn't trying to piss you off or chase you away with my question, either.
Your method of carry just seems odd and looks painful, but I also take your word about you being comfortable. I've tried similar methods and found they didn't work well for me.

Ain't nothing wrong with a DeSantis, 'Slim-Tuk'. DeSantis is a fine company; and they make well thought-out, well designed holsters. The Slim-Tuk does ride a little higher; but it, also, tucks-in quite nicely to your side.

OK, here's my two most frequently carried EDC pistols: Been carrying one or the other of these for more than 10 years now; so if some on-line, IGF, 'pantywaist' doesn't like it that's just too bad. (Got me through more than one, 'bad situation', too.)

The first is a Gen 3, Standard Model G-21 with extensive internal and external modifications. I don't usually carry it with the Arredondo magazine installed because THAT would be too bulky; but I do carry the Arredondo mag on the other side of my belt as a backup magazine.) This pistol has fired 10's of 1,000's of rounds!

The next pistol is one that I carry, somewhat, less frequently. It is a G19(RTF2) almost identically customized like the G21 shown above.

Like the OP, I also carry over my appendix, but OTB; and, yes, whether you're standing or sitting this is a very fast position to draw from; and might even save a full second! (Just watch your trigger finger and remember to keep that finger, 'arrow-straight' so that you don't end up exposing your femoral artery to potential harm!)

Very cool. Never seen a 19 with a finger rest like that. Do you have extra large hands? Also ever checked out Talon grips? They are really great for polymer pistols adding texture without bulk.

Pearce sells those floor plates for all kinds of magazines. Simple user friendly replacement. Really helpful for the 26 and 27, and the Kel Tecs and Kahrs of the world.

I tried aiwb years ago. Didn't like it. Back then I was 6ft tall and 167lbs. It was just uncomfortable. Today the height hasn't changed but weight is up to 220 so I can imagine it would be even less comfortable. I carry about 7:30 position (lefty).

Nothing to show off. G19. Seen one, seen them all. Only add on is night sights

Nowadays, it's this:

I relented...-untitled-jpg

Hey, at least it wasn't on a toilet seat.

The rest of the stuff is nothing fancy. A SAK or "tactical" folder, depending on whether I'm at work or not, a Surefire EB1 with spare cell in a delrin capsule, and an all-weather pen/notepad. I consider watches more a part of my attire than my "EDC load."

What can I say? I carry light.

442 with Pachmayr Compact grips (or is it stocks?) and a Laserlyte laser.
Brinkmann flashlight, pawn shop assisted opener and a coupla quickstrips.
Home made leather.

I hang it on a 1 1/2" wide double layer hand stitched leather belt.

I carry a 442 J frame in my left front pocket and one of a variety of other snubs in the waistband. Pepper spray, flashlight, multi tool on my belt. Speed loaders in my right front pocket, wallet left rear, money clip right rear. Phone on belt also. If I wear cargo pants or a jacket I can carry more stuff if I feel the need.

That particular magazine extension is made by Pearce Grips. I haven't shot a postal target match in many years. I always tend to fire in multiples of shots; and I don't want the pistol to move around (or, 'want' to move around) too much in my hand(s).

In recent years I've settled on Hogue, 'HandAll' rubber grip sleeves on all of my carry pistols. (I own more than one model of the same handgun.)

I've used Talon Grips in the past; but, they never lasted for as long as I wanted them to. They're also expensive. I finally gave up on them, and began cutting my own out of commercial skateboard tape that I picked up at a local bike shop.

Then I had the thumb, upper backstrap, and trigger finger areas on my G-21 nicely stippled - That modification has turned out to work very well, and given me excellent control over the gun! The following is one of my typical 20 yard rapid-fire pistol targets.

Either my 642 or 638 depending on where I'm going, urban or rural. When I travel it's the 638.

Sig P320 in .357 or Sig P229 Legion in .357 are my majority EDC. I have a 1076 and Sig 1911 Nightmare that I carry now and then.

EDIT to add: Often forgo the watch since my cell phone has a clock, seldom bother with a flashlight (one in the car) my key ring has an ignition key-fob and the front door key, usually carry a knife of some sort.

If you look closely there are two of them in the picture... Yes, on occasion they do get used. For some now unknown reason the one got mixed into my change and rode along for a couple months. The one on my keyring was thought to be a knife as I went through security at a court house by a young newbie guard. The older guard stepped in and took a look at what the fuss was about. He handed me my keys and wished me a good day. Then snapped at the kid as I was walking away and told him, "Look up p38 on your smarter than you phone."

Most courthouses I know of wouldn't let you in with that handcuff key, much less the P38 . . .

Now that we've moved to cooler weather, I have begun to carry my Kimber Ultra Carry in a custom KC Gunleather $OB holster with an untucked shirt. Extremely comfortable for all-day carry.....

Once I begin having to wearing a jacket, I'll rotate the Kimber with my 66-4 in my custom Snubbyfan.

DARKSTARR got attacked within the first 3 posts, jeez. Who cares how he carries as long as he carries. Gun, a spare mag, light , knife all essential stuff for EDC.
And how can you tell how high it rides without a pic of the holster and a pic of the person wearing the gun. I would think a thin person could easily carry a AIWB holster rather than a plump person.
poor guy , prob never see him on this forum again good job S&W forum

I have Talons on my P99c. I absolutely love them. Adds just the right amount of texture. Adds no bulk, and look great in my opinion. Much nicer looking than a rubber grip sleeve. Not expensive either. Best $18 I've spent in years.

I had no idea what a handcuff key even looked like until I was issued a pair of handcuffs. I wouldn't have given one a second glance

Except court house guards are more than familiar with cuff keys.

Lotsa good stuff and good carry plans. How often do you shoot them just like you carry them? Outside the gates..2 Taurus Views..11 ounces loaded. Inside the gates Colt SAA 3 1/2 45 cal. Carry every step..shoot every day!! Even when the hurricane puts out the lights.

Lartely, due to a need for not being "noticed" I have switched to this little pea shooter in a desantis "pop up" which requires violating rule 2 when you draw but daaaaamn it tucks deep. I carry a spare mag in my pocket, in a little carrier.

the rest of my carry items include a CRKT folder, a Fenix LD10 light, bottle opener, pocket monkey, Silver dollar.
