Default United States Concealed Carry Assn - Yay or Nay?

Does anyone here belong to the USCCA? If yes, why and which level? If no, why not?

I also was a member and feel the same way. I dropped out when it seemed that service to the members fell short and it was more important to make as much money as possible from the membership.

I have been a member for many years . The main reason I have it is for the insurance to cover cost of bonds and lawyers if I have to resort to force to stop an attack as I don't have a half million dollars for lawyer fees . The magazine is pretty much all about semi auto's and how revolvers fail about as much . I usually throw the magazine away . I'm a revolver guy . Yes , you will get lots of " upselling " . The guy that started it refers to himself as " tactical tim " . I thinks he wants to be thought of as a " spec ops " guy .

My perception is the young man who started it is an enterprising individual. A little long on talk, short on substance.

If I were to join an organization, I think it would be along the lines of the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network.

Even then, I really don't know if you'd get your money's worth.

I thought about joining for the insurance aspect, but after they refused to answer a couple of specific questions, I decided not to join.

I'm curious to know what questions they wouldn't answer.

I've been a member for a few years now. I too disliked the constant "upsell" emails, so I called them and asked that the be discontinued...and they were! Otherwise, I have no complaints about my membership.

Their Concealed Carry Magazine is the best of the three I regularly read and I look forward to it coming. The real test of the membership would only come in the event of me having to use a gun to defend myself. Hopefully, I never have to find out.

As an NRA instructor, I was shocked to see how much NRA material they had copied without credit or permission. I did not join the "US Carry Association."

Their "carry insurance" can be obtained through the NRA connected insurance programs also.

You said that 7 years ago. Things have changed.

My best friend is an NRA Instructor, and he HAS a membership.

Had questions about if they had a lawyer in my city or where the closest lawyer was. They would not tell me this. Their answer was that they do not release the names of their lawyers. I said I did not need names, but simply needed to know if they had a lawyer in my city as I felt that was important to response time should I need them.Again they would not tell me, in a rather insulting email, so I decided I wanted nothing to do with them.

Interesting. They gave me (3) names when I asked the same question. One of them is on my speed dial now.

Been with them about 2 years, lots of emails and I enjoy the magazine. I'm considering switching to CCW Safe. Hope I never need them.
