That's preferable to just speculating on what they imagine it might say - rather than what it actually says.

The last thing we need here are poorly informed pro gun voters running around in response to unsupported facts and rumors and telling their legislators to oppose the bill.
If you want to call your legislator and tell him to oppose the bill after you've read the bill, I am entirely ok with that - but please do your due diligence as a citizen first and understand what the bill is proposing before you decide it's a bad thing.

It was referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations on January 12th, so it's still moving through the committee process.
