Default Armed Citizen Saves Arizona Trooper

Check out this link. Another good example of armed citizen taking life saving action. Good on him. Best wishes for the Trooper.

Good post. Pleased to see the authorities response to the incident. Interesting that the good Samaritan waited for the trooper to request assistance and then returned to his car to retrieve his firearm.

Sadly, not so interesting given the interesting times we live in. Good on the good samaritan for jumping in and taking care of business the way that he did. Definitely one for the good guys.

I saw that on the news feeds this morning. Good job as far as I'm concerned. As I have said before, if we can't protect those that protect us we are in a lot of trouble here.

This is from the Arizona Department of Public Safety website.
They are very vague on the details regarding how the suspect was killed.

News RELEASE

DPS Trooper wounded following shooting in the west valley

Thursday, January 12, 2017 -

Contact PIO

At around 4:00 a.m., State Troopers responded to milepost 89 westbound along I10 for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, one of our Troopers, a 27-year veteran, located a roll-over collision in the area.

Our trooper was ambushed and shot by a suspect in the immediate area. A physical fight ensued and as a result the suspect was shot and killed.

An occupant of a vehicle that rolled-over in the same area was ejected and pronounced deceased at the hospital.

We have not confirmed the identification of the suspect or the occupant of the vehicle that was ejected.

State detectives are conducting the investigation.

We do not have an estimated time for reopening the highway.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is a state-level law enforcement agency whose mission is to protect human life and property by enforcing state laws, deterring criminal activity and providing vital support to the State of Arizona and its citizens.
