What do you carry?
In the past, I had 2 primary carry guns- my M&P 9C and my Ruger LCR. Recently I acquired a M64 snub and have been carrying this more, so much so, its become my primary carry gun. Has much to do with the the quality holster I have, but I simply am comfortable with this K frame snub both in shooting it as well as carrying it. It's simple to employ, not too heavy, is more accurate than I am. Superb gun.
I prefer a revolver as my carry gun- I shoot wheelguns in IDPA and USPSA and I like the idea of the DA to mitigate the idea an unscrupulous lawyer may have if I'm involved in a shooting.
So folks- what's your primary carry gun and why?

Well, I sure have a lot of choices, but I mostly carry my 340 PD I. My right front pocket in a pocket holster. A little over 11 ounces empty. Loaded and with the holster, it is still under a pound. Makes it easy to always have it with me. Carry 135 gr Speer Gold Dot short barrel .357s. Not too much recoil, and although they are not full house magnums, they are effective out of the short barrel.
Best Regards, Les

My main carry gun is a Ruger LCR in .327 mag. I used to carry a 360PD, but I shoot the LCR better. I was pretty good with the 360 in SA, but DA I was lucky if I got it in the black at 15 yards. The DA trigger on the LCR is really smooth and I like the internal hammer better than an external on a carry piece. I also carry a Kahr PM45 occasionally and my Seecamp .32 is always in my pocket holster, no matter what else I'm carrying.

Sitting here with a M&P45 Compact carried in a Crossbeed Supertuck, loaded with Hornady Critical Defense ammo. It has a green Crimson Trace laser. A spare mag in a horizontal mag carrier on my belt. I practice with it twice a week.

I regularly carry a Citadel 3.5 CS 3 1/2" M1911.
It's a great gun with a fabulous trigger, in a caliber which I trust to get the job done.
I've also recently carried a Glock 19.
I stopped carrying my Smith 36 "no-dash" because the current threat situation doesn't lead me to believe that five rounds of .38 Special is an adequate defense for emerging threats.

You ought to give the 200gr. Gold Dot Blazers a try. That's what I keep in my 4" 29-2. I also like the 200gr. Federal LSWC-HPs, although I found them to be somewhat less accurate than the Blazers.

Either my 3" model 60 or my 2" model 60. Federal 125 grain 357b's.
These are my only two carry guns. I just bought a Glock 43 but am waiting on my holster.

If I'm going anywhere outside of my little neck of the woods I carry a Glock 26 or 19.
Around home, property and environs a S&W 642-1.

Glock 19/4 or a SW 640 about 90% of the time. Hunting deep in pig country a G21/4. All with reloads.

On the farm:
S&W 3953 topped of with 124 grain Remington Golden Sabres carried in Foubus paddle.
Off the farm:
Numerous possibilities but for the past year or so primarily a S&W M&P40 PC Ported with a Trijicon RM07 topped off with 165 grain Remington Golden Sabres carried in a Comp-Tac Flatline .
Three thousand flawlessly functioning rounds gives me confidence with this setup.
Previously
Colt Stainless Lightweight Commander XS (NOT XSE) with Crimson Trace Master Series laser grips topped of with 230 grain Federal HST carried in a Mitch Rosen 5JR.
Or:
SW1911E topped of with 230 grain Federal HST carried in BladeTech Kydex OWB.
Or:
Custom Colt Delta Elite topped off with 175 grain Winchester Silvertips carried in BladeTech OWB or Kramer IWB2
When I take the Hornet for a ride it's a M&PBG380 topped of with Hornady Critical Defense carried in a DeSantis Memesis.

Primary carry gun is an ultra compact Kimber in .38 Super. Secondary is a Colt DS. I like the 1911 platform, am very experienced in it and am comfortable with it. I like the .38 super better than the .45 and better than the 9mm. (No, I don't carry them both at the same time. Usually.)

Although I carry a 60 snubby around our place, I usually opt for a bit more capacity off the property. Most often, I end up packing an 8-round Sig P290 RS or a Glock 19 when out and about.

I used to carry my Sig 220 and Glock 27 on the job.
Now that I am an old retired fellow and don't go looking for trouble, I carry old guns that I like.
I like this .32 -
And I like this .38 and this 9mm -
And sometimes I like this .45 -
And sometimes I don't carry anything at all.
Just depends on how I feel on any given day.

Around the house it's usually a 442 in a paddle holster - lightweight and easy to get on and off, and it doesn't poke me too much when I'm sitting!
Out and about running quick errands after work it's usually a 640 in an IWB. Same as the 442, but with a bit more authoritative bark! I'm more accurate with it than the 442 as well for some reason.
If I going somewhere where I just feel better being a little better heeled, I'll go with a 3" 65 or a Glock 26, mainly for accuracy.
Back in the day I toted Government 1911's, 10mm Glocks or even Sig P226's around. For whatever reason, I don't feel the need to do so very much anymore mostly, due to lifestyle changes and probably a decent dose of laziness in "dressing" around guns.

A Shield. A 9mm till recently when I picked up a 45, which is EDC most days. On the odd occasion when a Shield's too big, it's my homely, old Model 49 snubby.

What do I carry?
As to why? I've always liked short barreled revolvers.
After my motor nerve problem started about 5 years ago, I took this little fellow apart, put in an 11 pound rebound spring and an 8 pound main spring. Smoothed the guts some and now I can shoot him with both hands.
The gimpy hand and the not so gimpy hand.
Never a misfire or a light strike.
I'm still toying with getting a 9mm semiauto. Looks like it may be a Ruger LC9s, it has a sweet trigger that's gimpy hand compatible.

Most of the time, the S&W 640 with 145 grain magnum Silvertips. When I want a little more fire power, than it's the original Sig P-225 with Georgia Arms 124 grain +P's. When I need something light, the S&W 642 with Buffalo Bore 158 grain SWCHP +P's. Never felt under gunner or under powered.

I carry a .45 ACP most of the time. Currently I've been carrying my old Sig P220 with Novak 8 round magazine and a spare, either IWB or in a Kramer Horsehide Michigan State Police Paddle holster when I wear a jacket or coat.

Typical carry is a 442-2.
If I'm in the great outdoors and have heavier clothing, I usually have a 3" 60-15 with me. Great all-around revolver for me.
Around the house, it's usually a .380 Kel-Tec or the 442 in my pocket.
If I feel the need for more ( to tamp down that "tingling in my brain), it's usually a S&W 915.

I live in Florida where it's basically HOT year round. Having said that, my carry gun depends on my clothing. Most of the time I carry a Glock 30S, but sometimes I switch it up to a GLock 19. If I'm wearing clothing that would easily print or not be suitable for a holster I carry a Ruger LCP in my pocket.

I tend to be old school and carry a metal SA/DA auto or a 1911. My main carry is a CZ 75D compact in 9mm. However some days I carry my 1911PD. I have been trying to find a CZ 2075 RAMI but no joy so far.

2.5" 19. I like an exposed hammer that I can keep my thumb on when reholstering. I like the roundness of a revolver for concealment. I also like that it will work even if the gun ends up held at some weird angle. I have way more rounds through a revolver than an auto as well - probably over 100K.

I have carried a Kel-Tec P-11 with the side mounted factory steel pants clip on it.
It holds 12 rounds of 9mm Luger hollow points in the magazine and one in the chamber. That is a lot of protective firepower.
I do not wear belt trousers unless I am dressed "formally for a meeting".
Winter wear is normally "sweat" type pants with "t" shirt out.
My Model 60 5 round "357" rides in a black fabric holster with the "T" shirt over it.
A sweater and light "sweat type jacket".
Colder weather, a heavier jacket over everything.
Remember, I am retired,78 yrs old, and get out of the house and do yard work, or fix things in my shop next to the house.
Walmart is my favorite store here, and has about everything we need
We are rural folks here and all hate Dallas that is 75+ miles North.
This is Cedar Creek Lake country.
East Texans have their own frame of mind, and ways of doing things.
Remember this, as it is important!

I carry a 396 with a titanium cylinder laded with 200gr Gold Dots, plus a speed strip with 5 rounds. If that don't fix it I was toast anyway.

When the weather is cooler like it is now, and I' wear heavier shirts and a vest, I rotate through a lot of different guns, because I like them. That's the main reason I enjoy this time of year. During the hot sticky weather, I carry my Shield 9. I've ruined more than one gun's finish by sweating on them and forgetting to wipe them down daily. Never again. Plus the Shield is so comfortable and dependable.

My EDC is a Glock 27, converted to 357 Sig. Nightstand gun is a Glock 22 converted to 357. Back-up gun is a Glock 26. I have 40 S & W and 9mm barrels for the G27. Ugly guns but the work all the time, and hit where pointed. Also, same controls.
Wife has two G43s. Same principles: accurate, reliable and have the same controls. In a pinch, we can use each others.
Also, No "MY GUN IS PRETTIER THAN YOURS".
Carry a Glock 10mm in the field.

M640 no-dash, Pachmayr Compac grips, with the FBI load aboard. Pocket carried in a DeSantis Nemesis or (occasionally) an Uncle Mike's #3.
Every day the year around, for around seventeen years.
Guess that means I'm satisfied.
Thinking about a Ruger LCP for backup or dress occasions, but haven't made the move.

I have a few I like to carry, depending......
3" Mod 65-5 LS - 357 Mag
Mod 36 Chief = 38 Spl
Walther PPS - 9mm
Colt Mustang Plus II - .380
Have a holster on order for a recently acquired Ruger Alaskan 44 Mag, I plan on adding it to the line up

During the week, I carry an LCP II while working. Not my favorite option but I need small.
I've been through the original LCP, a Bodyguard, an LCP again, and a Kahr CW .380. So far I've been very happy with the LCP II. Aside from my wife's Sig P238, it's the best shooting "pocket" .380 I've used.
During the weekend or evenings, I carry either my Sig P938 or my PC Shield 9mm. My 642 comes along in a jacket pocket from time to time as well.
There are others I'll carry if the mood hits, but those are the main ones.

Why is the rear sight from your 60-15 missing?
