No pics from me either,(I need to learn how). My 640 rides in a round Mika in my right front pocket. Cargo shorts are great!

Currently 36-1 in Bell Charter Oak Chicago Rocker worn cross-draw. May go with same maker Summer Heat for t shirts and really hot weather. The Rocker does conceal with guayaberas and polos.
Use the desantis pocket holsters for the 638 and P-32. May pick up an LCR and try with cut down Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster.
Don't know how the leather will hold up in the dog days. Lefty Lewis' work is superb but the Rocker doesn't have enough of a sweat shield. My 36-1 was refinished in matte however so rust shouldn't be a big issue.

Summer carry is my 60-15 in a Milt Sparks VMII Horsehide. As the holster is typically carried directly against my body during warmer months, I find that the horsehide construction does a good job of minimizing sweat penetration. I am so happy with this holster that I currently have another on order for my Kimber Ultra Carry.
All of this being said, I'm still pretty anal about wiping down the gun daily with a Rem-Oil soaked rag.....

PIC 1;
2016 era 642-1, Altamont grips, tyler-t grip in a SAS Custom Holster for aiwb carry. I cannot stress how much I LOVE this setup for the 1 - 2 o,clock carry position.
PIC 2;
2010 era 642-1 in a Aholster.com pocket holster. This is my next favorite way to carry my J's.
Put them both together and you have a damn fine carry regimen.

I carry the same way all year round. I use a Mika round for suit or dress pants, a Mika square for Levis, and a DeSantis Nemesis for wide pockets like those found in cargo pants. The gun is a 649-2.

If I carry a J frame it is in a pocket holster. I don't have any pictures. If I am going to strap a weapon to my belt it is going to be a snubbie K frame or a compact or sub-compact 9mm. Once I commit to belt carry (which is typical for me) I don't see any reason to limit myself to 5 rounds.

The summers in S.C. can get hot. I usually appendix carry my 649 or M60-9 in a horsehide Lobo clip AIWB. However when doing work outside this setup means a sweat soaked gun and holster in no time. If I am in town I switch to pocket carry in a Galco horsehide holster. If I am at the farm, OWB is the order of the day. l need to get a nice leather field type holster for the M60.
Speaking of J Frames, does anyone else feel their draw speed suffers when they switch to any grips beside the "Magna" style? I also think switching to an autoloader slows my presentation. I must be old and soft in the head.

Same as the rest of the year--right front pocket in a DeSantis Nemesis or very occasionally an Uncle Mike's #3.
That's one kind of seasonal change I don't do.

Same way I always carry them-
-in a sticky pocket holster for khaki shorts/pants (these pockets conceal it) or my Carhartt work pants (I leave the butt sticking out of the jeans-style pockets for a faster draw, i.e. open)
-Wright Leather Works Predator Pancake open or concealed, been doing this less since my edc is usually my 4" 64 open in an el cheapo Bianchi thumbsnap

Most to least frequent:
Remora reholsterable IWB (easy to throw on and can handle sweat)
Bell Charter Oak Summer Heat IWB (the classiest and most comfy)
Pistol Wear Trump Card holster belt (low profile)
Mika pocket holster (classic!)
Aholster pocket holster (works surprisingly well)

My EDC is a 49 no dash in a Nemesis in FR pocket, winter or summer! Reload is one 8-round speed strip in a belt pouch over LF pocket.
I have a very nice Galco OWB and 2 or 3 IWB holsters for J-frames but don't use them. My brother and I both have ankle holsters for J-frames, but unless we are in suits, we don't use them! Like another poster said, if I'm going to belt carry It isn't a J-frame with 5 shots of 38. It will be a compact 1911 LDA with 7-45's, an M&P 9c with 13-9's or a Sig with 14-357 sigs. And the 49 will still be in the pocket! (EDC means Every Day, even with a second gun!)

My EDC in the summer is a Model 940. Usually carried in a Galco ankle holster or appendix holster.

Top to bottom for any season are... The Bianchi x16 shoulder rig for the 2 inch 40 or 36. (You didn't ask but X15 for the 10 or 64.) The #56 Serpent thumb break belt holster is my second favorite, I have both lefty and righties, (and a Nemesis (same but no thumb break) for the 4 inchers). A #152 Pocket Rig is useful to tuck into a pocket quickly, is my third choice. Rounding out the quartet (quintet?) is a #150 Negotiator ankle rig which used to see much much more use back when I wore a suit. The three inchers are a little trickier to find homes for, the two I own are so old I don't recall thier makers. (I have no connection to Bianchi, I just like thier stuff. That said, if anyone at Bianchi (or S&W or BB) would like some 30 year or so longitudinal test on products PM me and I will give you a shipping address.)

Nope you're right. If I go to rubber grips they are slower than magnas. I have the Tyler T's for controllability which also slows the draw but it's a decent compromise.

Well, not too hard, my summer carry rig is the same as my spring, fall, and winter rig:
Galco horsehide pocket holster, model PH 158.
It is generous enough in size that it will accept a Colt "D" frame, such as the Agent, Cobra, or Detective Special. Here shown with a S&W 640-1 with the Eagle "Secret Service" stocks in rosewood. This is a little heavy for pocket carry, and I usually carry the S&W 340 PD.
Best Regards, Les

I don't see a problem. Dust off the 442 and stick it in your pocket. That Bull Dog would do great AIWB.

[QUOTE=eb07;139611726]Not quite a J frame... but I cannot seem to let it go and pull the 442 out of the safe
I really like the bulldog have two of them and have carried them for nine months but after taking farnams course I have to concede that the ****** DA pull is not good for more than point shooting distances that is probably 12 feet. Granted in the majority of cases that would be all that's needed but I feel more responsible and confident with my 36-1 or 36-0 in 38 Special. I don't reload 44 special it's too expensive and it would take too much practice to become competent and responsible. I love the 44 special Buffalo Bore 200 grain hardcast wadcutter barrier penetrating and man stopping capabilities but sadly will probably sell my Bulldogs.

Just got a Blackhawk sticky style holster for my 2 inch J frames and one for my 3-inch 36-1. Works pretty pretty nicely especially when it's really hot out and sweat is really an issue. I need to have my shorts taken in however. The holster doesn't really work as well unless the waistband fits properly. one thing I do like this particular model holster for is that it's pretty thin so that if I'm in a high butt hurt high need for concealment area it doesn't print.

Charter Bulldog Revisited: Stacking Up Against Ruger and Smith & Wesson – CONCEALED CARRY ARIZONA
I had no issue. Use some snap caps and slip2000 or polishing compound, dry fire a lot, that trigger breaks in nice. Then take her out. You will be surprised.
Have a great summer!

No picture but my J-frame carry is a late 70s model 60 in either a Galco pocket holster, a Blackhawk Serpa or a Bianchi pancake holster.

I just got back from a few days in Austin, TX. 90+ degrees while I was there and I brought my 642 along. It wears Ergo Delta Grips and rides in a Mike Pocket Holster in my right front pocket. Bianchi Speed Strip in the other pocket in a Side Guard Speed Strip holder.

If you want you can replace your old and Renegade with a new Wilderness ankle holster. Although that said I'm not sure that they Supply their snubbies for the D Frame. They might. At any rate the Wilderness version is arguably an improvement on the old Renegade but also a copy. The owners tried to contact the makers but the makers had unfortunately disappeared so they started manufacturing a copy. They are working with a custom holster maker to make ankle holsters in leather in otter sizes so if they don't do a D Frame the custom maker might.

Also I'm curious since I have a 36 - 1 Smith square butt: do you have trouble concealing the square butt of the cobra? I find that the square butt of the Smith I have to push down lower if I'm carrying appendix compared to the 36 no dash round butt I have.

For a long time, I used a K-frame Don Hume JIT slide as a pocket holster for various J-frame revolvers with factory Magnas and usually a Tyler. Lately I have been carrying a Model 12 (airweight K frame) with service grips and a Tyler in the same holster. It's all about pocket size.
I also have Renegades for S&W J and Colt D, but that's not really a primary position for most circumstances.
