You need some IWB mag holders. I have read all the studies that shootings last only an average of 3 - 4 shots. I wish I could believe any I may ever get into would only be settled that quickly. Then I would only have to carry the gun and not the extra mags.

You just need a mag pouch that fits closer to the body and to wear slightly oversized T-shirts. That's what I do and never had a problem with printing.

Take a look at the mag holders from Alien Gear. I have two and I think that they work great.

I just use an old sun glasses case and carry it in the open on my belt. I can get 2 of my 9mm mags in one case. And it's cheap !!

Thanks for the ideas, and thanks to the OP for starting the thread. I purchased a .45 Shield not to long ago, and look forward to carrying it at some point. Some good ideas here.

Congrats on your purchase. Hope you do get to carry soon. It is a magnificent carry piece (thin and light).

I have heard that number also and have no reason to doubt it. Seeing as my edc holds 13, I don't feel the need to carry extra mags.
I am not going to get into a prolonged fire fight, just stop the bad guys from whatever harm they intend me.

Yup, I've used this on the support hand side for a couple of years, horizontally oriented on a 1 1/2" leather holster belt.
With the Velcro flap it holds everything tight, from an 8rd .380 single stack to a 16rd 9mm double stack. Don't even feel that it's there.

check out the horizontal carriers .. separating them and getting carriers with clips might help .. and IWB but would think that could be uncomfortable !!
The horizontal carriers fit along the belt and become invisible unless your T-shirts are tight to the body .. wearing cargo type shorts with a mag in one of the pockets might work also .. only one would be able to print on the waist .. and people put so much stuff in cargo pockets no one would notice .. ..
I find the small number of rounds in a 45 mag to be one of its biggest draw back against the 45 compacts for conceal carry .. with my 40 compact its 12+1 and about the same size .. so I only carry 1 extra magazine instead of 2 .. for the same number of rounds .. fewer items on your belt the less chance of printing ..
When conceal carrying I look at the whole carry package .. pistol, holster, magazine capacity and whether another package would be better even though its a smaller caliber !!
But what most people find out is no one is paying any attention and never notice ..

You don't need new equipment, you need a new outlook.
Printing is concealed. Don't worry about it.

Good practice of carrying at least one extra magazine. While the incident may only last a few rounds what if you have a malfunction and need to clear it and reload quickly.
Depending on how you dress take a look at one of the spare magazine pocket holders. I have carried a Glock 43 and Shield (not at the same time) with an N82 holster and carried the spare magazine in my off side front pocket protected and upright in a Desantis pocket mag holder.

I actually use a Foxx small of the back for appendix. It is the most comfortable i have ever tried and i have tried many... I carry at one oclock so i use the left hand draw small of back which is correct for right hand appendix draw. Spreads out the weight and they made me one with no cant and special bottom cut....

I've been using the Safariland horizontal model 123 mag pouch for about 20 years now.....it lays flat on top of the belt....... on the off hand side.

I use the cordura nylon folding knife sheath for a 5" folder. No one pays any attention to it.

Me too, Randy! You can also purchase nylon pouches in various sizes made for carrying knives. But if you can find a sheath for a knife or multitool that has the logo on it that will fit your mag, it really conceals the mag well, even if it's uncovered. Even without the logo, it still looks like a multitool in that sheath/case.
