Three fatalities in Oklahoma....
A man's 23 year old son was home alone when three guys decided to break in. They are now dead and a woman believed to be the getaway driver has been arrested.
One of the perps was armed with brass nucks, another with a knife.
The son was armed with a rifle.

You never know when you will need to protect yourself and your loved ones .. Perp's weren't there to socialize the way they were dressed .. Glad the family was prepared other wise it would/could have been a drastically different outcome !
And some wonder why some of us carry all waking hours even when at home !! you never know when you'll need to protect yourself even in what many would consider their safest place to be !!

Unfortunately, we also lost a young officer today, in an unrelated incident. He was shot while trying to subdue a suspect using a taser, which was ineffective.

It is sad that the four accused chose to waste their lives robbing others, and even more sad that the young man involved apparently had no choice but to defend himself. Prayers to 'all' their families and to the young police officer's family in Tecumseh.

Hardly a kid, he was in his mid 20's but drove a guy to and from a murder and stopped at Waffle House to talk things over. The courts were pretty tough with 30 years in the whole. Knowing the family, I wondered why. But as I heard the details of his involvement I thought, "Sorry, I'm not defending him.". It can be summed up. Got into drugs and started hanging around with the wrong people. Thank goodness our son wised up.

In Tulsa, home invasion and car jacking are cottage industries. The three decedents in the Broken Arrow case, all clad in black and wearing masks, certainly won't be recidivists. Stay armed, stay vigilant, stay safe...

I understand the family members of the teens that died are saddened and feeling a lot of emotions right now. I however feel that if you force your way into someone's home the way they did, i don't care if the resident used an RPG, don't expect to break into a person's home and be met with kindness.

Grandpa is himself a prolific criminal. Putting aside that he already displayed his stupidity by his advocacy for the criminally feral, he lost all credibility as a result of his criminal past. Defense of self and home is not supposed to be fair. It is supposed to be effective.

I TOTALLY agree and posted this on another forum with regard to it:
Reality being what it is the quality of 'fairness' simply cannot be applied in a self defensive situation. 'Fair' denotes an acceptance of rules and regulations that are typically agreed upon by people, organizations, countries, teams etc. and are followed by all parties. There is nothing between the actions of burglars/intruders and the homeowners that could ever be categorized as 'fair'.
