Default The Governor is on duty tonight......

Spent the day at my parents cutting and splitting fire wood about 4 cords near as I can guess. The whole family was there, my wife, both brothers and my niece and nephew (4 & 5 yrs old). And both of my dogs, a black lab (The Mule) and a 2&1/2 yr old German Sheppard (Dirty Gertie). Yes those are their names. The mutts spent the day unstacking the wood we just stacked and swimming in the pond.

It was nice. My mother and wife made lunch, brought us water and cooked supper. My dad worked us boys like old field mules.

My wife LOVES Facebook. I could give 2 ****s less. With that said, during supper, she reads us a post on Facebook. "A 6' 170# white guy is running from the cops, armed and considered dangerous". Supposedly in my neck of the woods...

I get home and let both dogs run through the house soaking wet, just to sniff around a bit..... I grab the youth model 870 (20 gauge) and do a quick walk through. Then I decide, her and I both need to carry on our person tonight..... she's has an LC9 and I load up the Governor with some Hornady self defense shells. Usually it's just the shotgun by the night stand.

I guess I just found a purpose for the Governor. Some like it, some hate it. I love mine, it's fun to shoot mice in the wood pile with it.

Really ticks me off that I feel I need to defend my home from some jack ***. Maybe I'm nutty. ???
Anyway, that was my day.
Thanks for listening.......
Bob

My wife doesn't usually concern herself with whether or not I happen to be armed, most of the time she doesn't know and doesn't care. Last night was different. It was about 9PM and we were on our way to her sister's house to let her dogs out (she is away for a couple days). She lives in a rural area and we got a report that the police had some kind of bad situation on her road. Someone running around with a shotgun, police searching the area, etc. My wife actually asked me if I was carrying, I said "yes", she said "good because the dogs would've had to wait til morning otherwise".
I can't say whether you are nutty or not but I do know sometimes the situation dictates.
Turned out to be some kind of stand-off further down her road, the only people running around with shotguns were the police.

Family time, a little honest manual labor with dad still in charge, family supper, and two neat dogs. Sounds like a great day!! Other than the armed jack wagon running lose. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!
