Default Talon grips and pocket carry

Hey guys,

I did a quick search and found a similar thread from a few years back, but not really a definitive answer, so I thought I'd reach out again.

I recently ordered (but don't actually have yet), a Shield 9mm, which I bought for the sole purpose of pocket carry. I definitely intend to add something to the grip, either a sleeve, or an adhesive grip. I really like the idea of the Talon "sandpaper" grips, because I held the .45 Shield and really liked the feel. But do you think that would cause an issue for pocket carry? Would it get stuck in my pocket when I try to draw because it's such an aggressive texture? Or would it eat the inside of my pockets up just from being in there, as the grip would be exposed in the pocket holster and rub on my pocket?

Thanks

Have you felt the talon grips? They are a lot more aggressive then the shield 45 grips... I personally don't like pocket carrying, it's something that you will have to do a trial and error I guess... good luck

I'm sure you're right. I haven't actually felt the Talon grips, which is why I'm asking (and I also emailed Talon, but they haven't written back yet). I'm just saying, relatively speaking, I like the feel of the .45 grip, which felt surprisingly gritty to me, so I think I might like something even grittier. I've never had the experience of feeling a grip like that. I usually wind up putting rubber sleeves on my grips to add girth because I have large hands. But I'm kind of curious to try something a little gritty because I've heard such rave reviews of it and what it does to one's shooting experience.

To make a long story short, pocket carry is new to me, but I love it. I don't do it every time. Sometimes I IWB with my HK, but pocket carrying is really convenient if I'm just going out for a walk or bike ride with the family or something and want to quickly throw something in my pocket on our way out the door. When I tried the Shield at the store to test out the grip, I did put it in my pocket and was easily able to get it in and out. I'm just curious to what extent the Talon grips might affect that, if any, and if it will chew up my pockets.
