That looks like a girdle with a holster attached.

I've had one of these for years and found them to be very uncomfortable, especially in the summer. The don't work well if you have an expanding middle.

Belly band bad (stories). With rare exceptions belly bands don't work. First belly band I used pitted my off-duty Model 36 in the 1970s. I ended-up Tefloning it. Next, In 1973 while in a "shooting incident" in August in my partner's car while performing anti-crime work, I had to ease the same Model 36 out of a belly band holster and then return fire with a bad guy. I recently kept a belly band to use as backup, never used it and just gave it to a doctor who loves it. He wears it in his office under his "scrubs" and finds it very comfortable. That's the only use I have discovered for these critters.

Under scrubs might be the only place that a belly band makes sense. They are routinely uncomfortable and they are next to impossible to access a gun from - I gave mine away to a young, former Recon Marine. He can make anything work. Semper Fi!

Sweaty & humid for steel parts. Keep your gun well oiled. Holds the gun ok, but have to leave middle buttons of your shirt undone for access. (I guess you could tear your shirt open like the incredible hulk if the need arose)

I had to wear dress pants, a tucked shirt, and a tie recently. The Belly Band worked for me. I position the Belly Band on top of the tucked in dress shirt just below my belt. My 442 was in the appendix position. Using the stock Uncle Mike's Boot Grip it can be below the belt or just under it. I could reach in under the belt for a draw. Wearing the band that low keeps it from making me too warm. I would normally just pocket carry but this pair of pants is light weight and didn't feel comfortable. Also being used to Cargo Pants and Shorts I needed the pockets. Oh, I am no skinny guy. Size 38 waist and a little round.

I have an umbilical hernia so I wear a belly band to keep it under control.
Don't carry a gun in it though. I prefer the gun just behind the strong
side hip OWB. I must have good belly bands because they are comfy
enough. Maybe I'm just used to them. I need to get that hernia fixed
one of these days.

I didn't mention that I also use it as a back brace at times.

A friend of mine wore a Model 60 crossdraw in a belly band for years. Under a loose button up shirt it concealed well and he said he could access it quickly enough. I haven't seen him in years, but it wouldn't surprise me if he still carried that way.

I had one of the elastic ones one. Ended up having my mom turn it into an ankle holster on her sewing machine.

I see Belly Band holsters as short term deep under-cover method of CCW. NOT for long term or EDC, IMHO. Not only do I find them uncomfortable, but they are hot, restricting and hard to get to fast. AGAIN........ if deep under-cover, they are better than going unarmed. YMMV

The only use I found for one, was to wear while running/jogging.
