Thanks! (My wife would argue the smart statement though. LOL!)

When I carry my old Model 49, it's usually three speed strips. With what's in the cylinder, that's 20 rounds. If that's not enough, it just ain't my day.

One 44 special or 45 acp, depending, with a, don't laugh, 22 mag BUG. That makes total of 11 or 13 rounds.

If I carry a high cap semi I usually carry a spare mag. But not always. If carrying a wheel gun I always carry one or two speed strips. I simply will not stand there waiting for the cops to show up with an empty gun in my hand. It will be reloaded immediately.

For revolver I normally carry one speed strip and one speed loader. The speed strip to top off the gun and speedloader for quick reload. I do not want to be caught flat footed if the "bad guy's" posse responds quicker than the PD. In our city, as in other large cities, the "Fergusson" effect is a reality. The probability of a gunfight is low, the need to reload is lower. However, the minimal extra weight is not a problem so I don"t stress over it.

If I'm carrying a semi auto, one spare mag will do. If I'm carrying a revolver, I carry two speedloaders in an HKS dual compartment belt pouch.
