SD9VE vs 637
I'm going to buy a gun this week, and I'm torn between an SD9VE or a model 637 with hammer, for concealed EDC.
Anyone have experience carrying both concealed? Which is more comfortable; is the extra weight of the SD9VE worth the 11 extra rounds?

I have always carried a revolver, or two if I think I might need to reload. The 11 extra rounds are only needed if you miss a lot. BTW, you might post in New Member forum and introduce yourself.

I am an avowed semi-auto fan but as far as actual concealment and ease of carry the 637 fits the bill much better.
Now I have to apologize to my SD9VE.

I'm a revolver fan, carry them daily. A j-frame is about as easy to carry as any gun out there.
You say this gun will be an EDC piece, I'm betting you will carry the 637 more often than the larger auto...
...those extra 11 rounds are useless back at the truck.

Since I retired, I pocket carry a 642 almost daily. How do you plan to CC?

You can't beat the J-Frame. That's pretty much all I carry and shoot. 442 with stock boot grips is for the pocket. One of the others goes in the waist band.

I have a 637-2 with a bobbed hammer spur which is either my daily carry or my backup everyday. If I'm working around the house, it's always in my pocket. I've never owned the SD9VE, but my daily carry for a few years was a .40 caliber Shield which was nice.
I don't think you can go wrong with either, but the 637 will carry much easier. You won't even know it's there.

I have carried both, the SD9 I found was a little to bulky to carry daily. I had a 637-2 but decided I'm not a revolver guy. As a result my EDC is a M&P9c or 40c . These are what I have come to the conclusion are comfortable for me.

I am a revolver person, so I usually carry revolvers, that makes me bias. That said since your choices are between a semi, and a revolver maybe consider a shield, or even body guard.
