I won a couple of tee shirts at the gun show last month, that advertised the gun show. I wore one yesterday and I didn't have any problems at all. I wear NRA caps and no problems there either. I do remember when hunters and shooters were a proud bunch. It appears the P C group took that all away.

It doesn't have anything to do with being PC. It has everything to do with making yourself less of a target in certain areas of the country. Living smart doesn't mean that you've given in.

I don't wear gun advertising clothing. Was given NRA Carry Guard had at the NRA annual meeting but don't wear it. In my opinion Concealed Carry means the bad guys don't know I carry or have any interest in guns.

I also wear t-shirts and hats from high performance auto parts companies, tractor companies, and all kinds of other businesses, even some that I had made up with the name of my own farm on them. I wear them at shooting matches, training a qualifying days, when working around my place, drag races, car shows, to the grocery, hardware, and feed stores, Wal-Mart. Pretty much wherever I feel like it. I also open carry fairly often because when I'm working outside it's easier and more comfortable than concealed and that often turns into errands to this store or that, or the gas station, or down to the town landing, or any number of other places. And, I know plenty of other people that do the same. Of course, that's not the entirety of my wardrobe and I don't wear those things all the time, but more often than not, when I'm on my own time, that's how I'll dress.

Does that make me classless or immature or mean that I'm trying to show how tough I am? Of course not, it simply means that I own lots of shirts and hats with different logos and printing on them and that's what I like to wear. Your presumptions about folks that wear themed t-shirts are ignorant and you're drawing conclusions about people you don't know based on nothing but the shirt they might be wearing. That's ridiculous.
Wearing a Smith and Wesson shirt isn't specifically what I meant when I said type of clothing was stupid and immature. Granted I asked if folks wear that kind of stuff. The type of clothing that is stupid to wear while carrying a gun is things that say junk like "I'm a weapon".

I live in a suburb/ borderline rural area of Flint Mi and travel to Detroit a lot. If I'm staying local it's like someone mentioned, if you don't wear camo or carhart they look at you funny. If I'm staying local I can wear my gun shirts and open carry without a problem.

If I'm going to Flint or the inner ring suburbs, camo is still ok but the gun shirts disappear and I definitely CC.

If I'm going to Detroit I Cc the bigger gun and clothing is completely sanitized. No camo, no gun shirts.

In general I call my look suburban beach bum. Lots of cargo shorts and loose polos or camp style shirts and flip flops.

The Secret Service is across the hall from my office. They have told me they have like five different dress codes, depending on their day's assignment. They always look professional, but their physiques and bearing are the only things that make them stand out in any way.

I try to model my apparel on theirs.

I don't mind wearing my 5.11's (pants / shorts) but they don't stand out in my environment.

I don't walk around with shirts or caps that say "shoot me first" and I take pains to ensure that "concealed" means "concealed".

Must be me but I always thought camo look good on just about everything. I have camo seat covers in my truck and do wear a camo hat when it's hot.

I won't wear anything with a gun pictured on it because that's just too in your face. But I do have a Ruger and an NRA shirt I occasionally wear. The Ruger shirt has a small logo on the pocket and the NRA shirt has a logo on it too. Most people who don't know anything about guns probably couldn't even point out what an NRA or Ruger logo looks like. And I don't care what they think. There are worst things a man could wear, like skinny jeans, plastic flip flops, and tye dye shirts.

Grey man is an option that I always use when traveling or visiting another state. NRA, gun shop or gun t shirts are reserved for working at home or in the yard. I wear my ARMY shirt or hat at the gym or where I want, I earned it. 5-11 pants are my standard, I like the pockets, and don't have to put my wallet in a back pocket. I carry a gun wherever it is not prohibited.

My pickup truck has a retired ARMY sticker in the rear window, along with an FOP plate. I don't put on political stickers because I have never seen one for a democrat vandalized.

I will occasionally wear a police hat or shirt, depending where I will be. I earned that and so has my son.

Finally, grey hair and over 60 grants me invisibility to anyone under 40, they don't see you or hear you. The down side is that it identifies you as a potential victim to the feral humans who are always lurking.

Agreed! Especially no bumper stickers. I live out side of St. Louis and rarely go to the city. Windows broken out of cars and trucks is very common in St. Louis city. I would think the bumper stickers would move you to the front of that line.

Default Typically, no...

I was given an awesome t shirt by some members of my family that is just too cool not to wear. It is a brand shirt, advertising a small LGS. I like it so much I went and bought another in a different color.

Most people assume it's advertising a popular video game "Fallout 4".

The only other shirt I regularly wear, that may provide a hint, is one I bought while deployed to Balad AB, Iraq.

My presumptions, and only thing I said anything negative about, are about people that would wear a shirt like the one pictured. With phrases like "I'm a weapon". Not folks in wounded warrior shirts, or S and W shirts. I don't wear them but I don't think it is stupid to.

I just imagine after having to use your pistol in a defensive situation, wearing a shirt that says that kind of stuff could lead people to the wrong conclusions.

I do advertise military and fire house. I am a firm believer in 'flying the colors' of the Army (of which I am a graduate), and the fire house in which I still serve.... If I offend a a politically moderate single mother, or anyone else for that matter, that is just plain sad....
I will add that it is my opinion that all able bodied citizens of this country should serve it in some capacity to enrich and or strengthen the country that provides them with unmeasurable freedoms and opportunity. I guess expressing an opinion or preference has fallen into the politically incorrect category.

I don't knock what anyone else does, nor do I care. I learned during my 30 years on the street to keep a low profile, especially off duty. I'm now 70, retired from LE 20 years and continue to fly below the radar. Most of my clothes come from WalMart or Target and I enjoy the simpler things of life. I'll continue to carry as long as I can handle my EDC compentently.

Only applicable message on a T shirt for me would be a "wide load" banner.

I don't advertise I carry. In Texas it was wranglers, button down shirt and usually boots, easy to conceal most anything. Now that I am living in Florida its shorts, t-shirts and boat shoes, so pocket carry works for me now. Now the only thing my clothing tells folks is that I like to eat....a lot!!

As close as my closet comes is a couple of hats from joining the Armed Citizen's Defense Network . I've never even put them on.

I like it when you wear the clothes though. Let's me know who my potential friends or enemies are...somebody I can keep an eye on!

There have been very few times that I wore shirts with messages on them. Most of those times they were required wear for the job. One of the other times was when I was sponsored by a boat company in a bike race.

I grew up with white t-shirts, and to this day I still wear them. All the black Harley shirts ended up in a box, or my wife's dresser. In cooler weather I always wear a button down shirt.

I generally do not as I find it goody, dorky Tacticool as well as a giveaway that I may be carrying. I do have a Federal ammo and PSA shirt that I just wear around the house.

No signature clothing or hats, no bumper stickers, no "I dare you." signs around the house. Nobody's business what I might have or how I think.

Being a dark skinned Injun with tattoos, long hair and earrings in small town West Virginia, I stand out in a crowd already.
I don't dress in a way that attracts even more attention.

Start carrying the tomahawk. That will get them for sure.

I swear, I've never seen a group of grown up men get so spooled up over t shirts.

I wear a S&W hat at the range, but that's it.

ETA: Just to clarify, that is not the only thing I'm wearing at the range

It is an interesting topic. I use to wear Ruger and S&W shirts all the time. When I started carrying, I stopped all that. I had the idea to wear things that would make people consider me the least likely to be armed in the room. Khaki shorts and a tie die VW shirt with cigarette burns in it.

I wear jeans, Red Wing boots, a button up shirt, and a camo Savage baseball cap. Around here, you stand out if you AREN'T wearing at least some camouflage.

No bumper stickers or tacticool gear for me.

At last...I agree. I have never even thought about what other people wear. As one poster wrote, as long as they have clothes on, really.

I wear a M&P t-shirt or a Magpul T from time to time. No bumper stickers of any kind on the ride because I like my car fairly clean looking. I don't really care what others think about my shirts. I think most people are caught up in their own lives to read every t shirt they pass by.

By the time you're close enough to read my shirt, you're already on my radar. Hey! That sounds like a bitchin' T shirt!

Seriously though, I tend to overthink stuff as it is. My attire should not be added to my list. There was a time wearing tats made you stick out like a sore thumb...

I conceal at work, in my church's sanctuary during worship, in hospitals, and as required by Texas law. I have 1 or 2 NRA shirts I got for free. I have several artillery and hobby rocketry shirts that I am much more likely to wear. Army retired, Vietnam caps. I seldom wear t-shirts as I prefer long sleeves and pockets. I usually dress more for comfort, protection, and utility than for advertising. Thus, I end up with my shirt tail inside my pants and my pistol outside.

My patrol cap fit when my head was shaven. Now that I have (some) hair it is too small.
Smoke, are you a redleg or is that a different kind of "smoke?"

I am a Red Leg but "Smoke" is a tribute to my grandfather what was awarded the name for burning down his father's barn
While sneaking a smoke.

Me too. I don't advertise. If someone wants to jump me they will be surprised.

No shirts/hats with gun logos or anything to do with firearms .. stickers go on my ammo cases not on my Jeep's !!

The one logo hat I have is a Berretta hat and its 5-6 years old and is for wearing mowing my 2 acres ..

I am an old grey haired old man that wishes to remain as invisible as I can be ..

I wear an NRA hat just about everywhere, except to church. Well, I wear it TO church, just not IN church.

My wife has more "gun related" stuff than I do. A couple of T-shirts from local gun stores, and at least two "KalishniKitty" T-shirts.

LOL around here your truck might get vandalized it it DIDN'T have an NRA sticker. I think they put them on at the dealership here. Gun shirts, hunting stickers, Earth First we will mine the other Planets later, etc etc. Your fine here as long as your sticker doesn't have a liberal message. Then you you rig would be OK, you would just get shunned.
