Default Would you carry one of these?

I ran accross this online. It is a credit card size single shot .22 lr.
I am not sure if this is really that big a deal since it doesn't appear to
be that much smaller than a shield and the shield has much more
functionality. Also fumbling to open it up seems like a bad idea.
Any thoughts?

IMHO, if you're going to carry a firearm, carry a firearm.

No, I would not. If trying to carry more inconspicuously than standard CCW, I think one of those pen 22s would be a better bet. Not that I have any interest in something that small and inconspicuous myself. They seem more useless gimmick to me than anything else.

I have one of those NAA .22lr revolvers. I think it's smaller than this, although a little thicker, and it is a five shot. Fits in your jeans watch pocket. I sure wouldn't pick it as my primary gun, but I did used to carry it in my shirt pocket when I was in uniform.

Best Regards, Les

I have one also, best $150 I have spent. Spends most of the time in my front jeans pocket.

Not for me. I want just a little more than that when the pucker factor is increasing to trigger pulling levels.

Seems to me that's a bad choice for self defense.

And, really, there are other less bad choices for self defense, so why on earth carry a single shot 22?

It will get you killed because you feel like you have a weapon. In reality you would have a toy that may give you one shot, if you can manipulate it during the most stressful seconds of you life. Even if you hit your target, he/she will probably have plenty of time to kill you before going down. If you need a concealed carry, get something that is reliable, effective and you are proficient with. You are betting your life on the results.

I would carry most any pocket rocket available. Like an LCP or other tiny compact that would probably be smaller than that wanna be gun.

Default I've heard of a jacknife......

but a jackGUN???

For about half that much I can buy a real pocket pistol with multiple rounds. I can even get one in .380 acp that fits in the palm of my hand. I wouldn't count on using a single shot .22 as a 'carry weapon'. If it's 'all I had'...maybe. But I don't intend to get stuck with that being 'all I had'.

Interesting novelty.

I'll stick with my LCP Gen 2 that cost me $199.00 plus tax. Not my EDC but great for walking my dog in my neighborhood in a Remora holster, with an extra magazine in my pocket

$399 for that thing? if anyone wants to throw $399 away it's easier to just reach in your pocket and throw the money in the air than to search out and buy one of those things, no thanks!

If it went bang every time, I might put one in the rotation. $399 is a little steep, though . . .

Don't think so. Might be useful to stick up BG's nose and fire. I would rather have a good knife.

I'm not interested in a sd firearm that needs to be assembled and loaded after you pull it.

Seems like it would be limited to very leisurely sd situations.

No and I wouldn't even spend the money to have one. $399 will get me a real gun that has more ammo and ready all the time instead of having to pull it out, unfold it, cock it and then shoot.

Well, I just read the instruction manual I think by the time you unfold that sucker, cock it and fire-you'd be in a world of hurt.
Next and perhaps more importantly, this looks like an "any other weapon" or destructive device" as defined by the ATF-kinda like those .22 or .38 "pens" that are outlawed.
Me-I'll take my NAA .22 when deep cover and extreme hide is required.

Ya sure, but did you read the SPEC sheet??

It has an "Isonite" finish" Can't get that just any old place!

I used to carry a NAA 22 in my shirt pocket too, when I was in uniform. I never took it home though because it looked like a toy it was so small and I was afraid that my kids might get a hold of it.

I'll Velcro it to the receiver of my new Mossberg Shockwave as backup. How tactical it that!

If it was made as some sort of cheap/inexpensive flare & signaling device I can see where it might have some market and use as a hikers friend, fisherpersons and the like.
At the current price, it wouldn't make it in that market for sure.

...$400 for a s/s self defense weapon?,,no.
That's just a false sense of security for the person carrying it and that generally leads to very serious situations, injurys and the worse.
It's may tickle the fancy of the latest 007 fan but the world is real and nasty, quick and dirty.

Better to spend the money on a decent firearm,, and some SD classes if you're serious

Looks something you could make yourself. IIRC there was something called the OSS "Stinger", looked like a pen, fired a 22LR, may a 32ACP. For point blank use, and where you might be under close scrutiny...

For lack of better words-its like a pet rock. A freak item to have. I mean, I wouldnt take my pet rock (dont have one, never did and never will) to a rock fight, wouldnt take this thing to a gunfight. All it is is a novelty item-for that reason only--and IF it were priced at maybe as high as $99?? I MIGHT own one--as a novelty item--maybe?????

It would need to be a lot more useful for me to consider......

Open a jar of dill slices or Bushes Baked maybe, or skin a carrot, or clean toe nails.......

Arguably, a rock might be a more practical weapon.

It looks like it's as big or bigger than even the stereotypical .25 or .32 "Saturday Night Special." Not that I'm overly fond of those guns, but at least they get you a half dozen or better rounds. I'm not likely to carry either, but I'd much rather carry a .25 than one of those things.

I am not sure if this is really that big a deal since it doesn't appear to
be that much smaller than a shield and the shield has much more
functionality. Also fumbling to open it up seems like a bad idea.
Any thoughts?

No. I would not.

I wouldn't mind one for a collection of oddball guns, but not to carry around.

I'd rather have one of those Heizer Defense things than this.

Absolutely would not buy one carry one or want one
Just a waste of my money and I definitely wouldn't trust my life to one of them

That one would be super illegal here in Sweden.
Beside that i think it would be cool to have in the car, just because.

But i would not pay that much for it.

Friends don't let friends carry a LifeCard.

That's all I have to say about that. ;-)

Well, I did notice that the manual doesn't warn against the possibility of the pistol firing inadvertently when dropped . . .
