Default Experience with Hogue Bantam grips on N frame?

Hi All,
I'm working towards using my 3" 629 for winter concealed carry (using 44 Specials).

I want something that leaves the blackstrap exposed and doesn't extend much - or any - below the frame.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Hogue Bantam grips? Pic below from the Hogue web site.

Thanks

This isn't directly relatable, but I've been using the rubber version Bantams on my 69. They are very comfortable to shoot with Specials and tolerable with Magnums.

I have bantam (aka boot) Ahrends grips on a couple of N-frame revolvers. They work best with 3" or shorter barrels, which are lighter up front. I find the recoil, even .44 Magnum, is no worse than with a full-sized grip. The grip fills your hand well, and distributes the force. Twisting, due to the heavy bullet, is noticeable, and harder to control than with a longer grip. Boot grips are a reasonable compromise between comfort and conceivability.

Ahrendts grips are a little wider across the back than Hogues, and don't have that stylish palm bulge, which I find too low for a good hold.

I generally shoot .44 Magnum, but .44 SPL are a lot better for self-defense carry. Pain, as a teaching tool, has its limits.

Thanks. I have a set of Ahrends on a RB model 10, and have been fairly happy with them. The relief on the left side though, sometimes interferes with ejection. Maybe I'll go back to Ahrends for the N frame too.

I do not have any of the bantam style Hogue woods but I do have a few of the round to square target ones. The boot grips I do have are the Badgers. Even with the smooth textured grip I have no problem with Speer GD 44 specials.
