The kilt certainly represents an interesting dilemma for concealed carry.
By the way ........ you're not a lumberjack are you?

My brother and I used to own a timbering company, I can assure you I'm not that kind of lumberjack. And I don't think I've ever been shopping on Wednesday!
However I'm not sure how to answer for my brother. He has never put on a Kilt, but all of his cowboy boots have very high heals!

I like the suspenders, in a matching Tartan design.

I've wearing a skirt didn't feel out of place, I'm not sure why the 49 would have. But seriously if it's a bad place, it seems wearing a kilt might be just asking for trouble.

I've been told that I have the legs for a kilt.
Kinda figured it'd look out of place, an Injun wearing a kilt.
Hmm, maybe a loincloth? I've got some soft leather....

On a windy day, you will get an idea, especially if it a cool breeze! 😜

Mountain Hardwear makes a nice hiking kilt. It really helps when you're hiking up a steep trail; your sweaty pants legs don't drag on your thighs and slow you down.

They sell out of them frequently.

You are correct! Traditional Kilts have no pockets! The pouch is call a Sporran (see several earlier posts), and takes the place of pockets. However the modern "Utility Kilt" has from 2 to 8 pockets. Mine are a 4 pocket proto type that won't make it to production. Getting the front pockets and the buckle areas to hang correct is a real problem! In fact my 2 front pockets are too small for a 2" J-frame even without a holster! That is why my 49 was down in the cargo pocket.
I'm going to look into (Rephrase that: I'm going to consider) the hiking kilt.
Snubby, you can dress for any ethnicity you please! You, like most of us, just about have them all in you!

Slightly of topic but. I once saw a male figure skater/ice dancer respond to a disparaging remark made by a drunk red neck, by kicking him into next week! Man those guys have unbelievably strong legs!

My wife and I visited Scotland this summer. A great place with very nice people. We took a tour of Edinburgh Castle. I take it that these folks wore kilts. They evidently had a highly developed understanding of edged weapons. Further more their history leads me to believe they were short on talk and long on action. I, for one, would not have laughed at these "skirt/kilt" wearers.

I know a fella. Known as Smack. Wears a kilt occasionally. NO ONE has made a snide remark to him.
Wonder why?

He just hasn't been to the right places. There's always someone tougher, or thinks their tougher, and/or has the numbers on their side.

Maybe I'm ignorant but a kilt shouldn't be a problem unless you've got nothing on the bottom side to keep them up, especially if you have no belt to go along with. Since my mother's part of germany has a lot of racial celts (her included) I guess I could justify wearing a kilt myself, right?

My ancestry is mostly Polish. I wear a kilt from time to time. My wife's clan is Rose so I think I am sort of a Rose by marriage.

Never saw even one kilt growing up in North Dakota winters.
Maybe they were all kilt.

Many of us say we learn something new on this Forum every day. But there are some things that you just don't want to learn.
