Default Pachmayr Guardian Grips

Pachmayr(R) GuardianGripTM

Spring loaded extension. Has anyone tried one of these with a CCW J frame? Interesting idea.

That's the kind of stuff that shows up when corporate conglomerates buy out small manufacturers.

Call it a gimmick if you like but, it is a pretty inovative idea that might enhance one’s ability to control their weapon. I would be interested in trying one on my J-frame.

With a defensive weapon, control is paramount. If having that extra finger on the grip allows me to control my shot and make follow up shots quicker and more accurate. I’m all for it! Sometimes “simple” could get you killed. Funny how popular “pinky” extensions are on pistol magazines, isn’t it?

Pachmayr made the Bianchi “Lightning” grips back in the old days. I’d rather see those come back in versions for the J, K, and L frames for CCW. They shrouded the hammer and provided a full grip.

The lightning grips are a fail. Very heavy and clunky. Makes a 2" K frame weigh 15 pounds. I have some just because they are collectible. The concept is interest but, in my opinion, poor execution.

On the other hand, this Guardian grip looks interesting. They are on backorder. Otherwise, would already have one on the way.

I'm assuming they somehow "lock" into the extended position. Cool idea IMO.
I'd love to try one.

J-frame .38s can be hard to control.

After watching the video, all I could think of was that spring loaded extension popping out while the revolver was still in my pocket holster and becoming entangled with the pocket liner in my jeans. That ain't simple. That's just stupid.

They make a 3 inch Model 13-3 a joy to shoot. I put them on a Model 12, and I’d agree they aren’t right for short, light guns. I’m laser scanning mine to get the dimensions to 3D print a sturdy, lightweight pair. Then, I’ll report on how they work.

Beretta has had what they call Snap Grip Mags for their PX4 Sub Compact .. Beretta Px4 Magazine Sub-Compact .40S&W 10Rds SNAP GRIP Packaged the bottom of the mag snaps down giving full 3 finger grip .. and is very comfortable to shoot with .. though its not a pocket gun ..

Having that come out in your pocket would/could it catch on the cloth ??

Little late to the thread, but I agree, I wouldn't want to pocket carry this. Holster on the hip it could work. I may try it on my Model 36 I hip carry when it's available but I'll stick with the boots on my pocket carried 438 and 442.

I'd suggest you make a boot grip version and sell them here!
