Default cross breed holsters ... carry choices

their holsters make sense however i have never tried one . i like the the leather backer combined with a kydex holster . considering iwb or owb with a horsehide sweat guard . can't decide on single mag or dual mag carrier ....... dual mag carrier may be the choice .
as long as a covering garment such as a sweat shirt or any other type pull over type garment will hide stuff ok , i am getting the owb model.
anyone own/use the cross breed model holsters ?
your useful info appreciated.

https://www.crossbreed-seconds.com/ NOTE: Click on Products on the right side of the page.

I bought two belts and two holsters off their "seconds" website. This site sells blems for much less than the 'firsts' and lets you get an idea of how well you'll like them before laying out the big bucks. From what I understand, the seconds are functionally perfect, only visually blemished in some way.

The belts appear perfect- I could never find any blem on either of them which tells me their quality standards are pretty high.

The holsters had very minor blems, in the form of a black spot on the leather or similar.

REVIEW of the belts: I can only vouch for one of the belts, the one I wear. The other was bought for my wife and I don't think she's worn it maybe three times. She didn't like belt carry. The belt I wear has been outstanding. After five years or so it's still as stiff as the day I bought it, looks nice, and supports my EDC guns and magazines well (P229, P320, or USP, so bigger guns and heavy mags) I bought a brown belt to go with my Frye boots, so it gets worn about once or twice a week (church primarily).

REVIEW of the holsters: I bought two seconds holsters for my XDs45; one IWB and one OWB. I only rarely carry this gun now, but a half-dozen years ago it was near the top of my EDC for about six months. I like the gun a lot, but I rarely need that deep of a concealment to justify the limited capacity. The IWB holster seems OK, but I really don't like IWB carry so the holster only got worn a few times. I shouldn't comment on it because I don't carry IWB enough to have a useful or educated opinion, but I had no problems with the holster.

The OWB holster was functional and concealed well, but the leather backer became soft a little too quickly in my opinion. Toward the end of my use of it, I was threading my belt around the outside of the holster shell to help keep it from flopping. This may not be typical, and I have never heard anyone else with the same problem so take it with a grain of salt.

EDIT to add: I should explain the problem with the OWB holster a little better if I can. The backer got soft, and so it has a tendency to "inchworm" on the belt. That's the best way I can think of to describe it. It would start out flat against the body, then over time it would want to protrude away from the body as the two ends slid closer together on the belt. Hope that's helpful but if not let me know and I'll try to think of a better explanation.

If you're on the fence- try a second first The inventory changes constantly so if they don't have one for your gun today, wait a few days and try again.

I have a CrossBreed SuperTuk or MiniTuk for all my pistols and ALL were purchased from their 'Blems' site.
Their Factory Seconds are just as good as their 'regulars' and you don't have to wait for them to make it for you.

I have a horsehide Supertuck I used for my Glock 23 (also sued it for a 1911). I didn't really like the clips so I order the velcro attachment and matching velcro lined belt. It carried and concealed very well, including when using a tucked in shirt. The only reason I don't use it now is that my waistline expanded and took up the "spare" room I needed for IWB carry. I still have it in my holster drawer in case I regain that lost space under the belt.

I have a couple I use for holsters I leave in my Jeep for use when I can't carry into a building
that is posted .. I use them to store my carry in the gun safe under my passenger seat ..

Good quality and both were good fit for the models bought
for ..

But for a quality carry holster I use both Wright Leather Works Or Garrett Industries holsters ..

I've got a SuperTuck for my Glock 26 and a similarly constructed Alien Gear for my 9mm Shield. The SuperTuck is about 8 years old the Alien Gear is about 5 years old. Myself, I love them. The leather backer pad spreads the weight of the gun out and, for me anyway, makes it VERY comfortable and concealable. The leather is comfortable against the skin while the kydex keeps the holster from collapsing when you draw the gun. Both have the metal belt clips, and I have never had any issues with the clips coming off my belt. They both have a lip on the end, that sticks down below the belt. That makes them a little bulky, but it also makes the clips very easy to put on or take off.

While I really like the SuperTuck, I do have to say that the Alien Gear appears to work just as well and was quite a bit less expensive as well. The leather appears to be higher quality on the CrossBreed but, for the intended use, I'm not sure it makes a real difference. If the cost of the SuperTuck makes you think twice, try the Alien Gear to see if you like the concept.

I've been very pleased with their IWB Supertuck holsters... They're my goto IWB rigs for all my carry guns... I mostly carry OWB these days with Bladetech Eclipse holsters as anyone I spend much time with knows I'm packing but, when I need to be discrete they're my go to. I tried Alien Gear holsters but, I find them to be too thick and soft and don't distribute the weight as well as the crossbreed holsters do as they seem to use a stiffer leather vs. the neoprene on the Alien Gear... Can't beat the Crossbreed service either...

I’ve got three supertucks blems from the “seconds” site. They work fine. The blems don’t have a warranty. I’ve had to trim the sweat guard part of the backing slightly on all of them to keep it from interfering with my grip. As mentioned, if you wear it daily, the leather backing will sag. The horse hide will sag less than the cowhide

I had to return a supertuck for my MP Compact 2.0 4”. I have TFX sights and the front sight rubbed the kydex upon drawing. Replaced it with an Aliengear and I like it a lot.

On the day I replied to this thread I got to looking at their seconds stuff, and ordered an instructor belt and a double magazine pouch. Both arrived yesterday and as typical I could not find any blem in the belt- and the belt is really nice BTW.

I don't see a blem in the mag pouch either unless the non-symmetrical rivet spacing is the blem.

This post my be to late but!
Look at N82 IWB holsters. I sweat A LOT and carry AIWB. I checked out ALL the holsters of the style you mentioned and found all but the N82 allow sweat to come through at some point on the holster.
the N82 has the sweat guard and kydex holster. JMO.

Be SAFE and SHOOT often!

I only have a couple for small single stack 9mms and I really like them for that size. I have no experience with their duty size handguns IWB.
It takes but a short time wearing it to start forming to your body.
They are a bit pricey, but I think they’ll last a long time.

I am on my third IWB holster. The first was a used Kholster brand that I picked up used. I like it just fine but decided IWB just wasn’t for me. I rethought IWB carry and I tried a Crossbreed. The Crossbreed I actually liked less but continued wearing it anyway. I eventually sold it as well. I went three years without doing IWB until I was introduced to the Aliengear by my coworkers. Honestly, don’t waist your money on an IWB other than an Aliengear. Their warranty and shell exchange, combined with the low cost, set them far ahead of their competition.
