Talking

On the clock: On me- Glock 35 with Streamlight TLR-1s & S&W 638, 2.5" bbl. In the PD SUV- Colt AR15A3, Remington 14" 870 with beanbags of pain!

Off the clock, either the 638 or Mod 60 in magnum or my Glock 23.

So basically DAO and or DA/SA for wheelguns the only safety's are on the long guns...

Your taking it out of context. He said that referring to incidents at schools, home etc. where people do not, or may not have immediate access to an actual weapon. An improvised weapon....and an effective one at that.

Ever been sprayed by dry chem? I have @ a fatal accident by a well meaning citizen who didn't realize that dry chem bounces off car hoods....into the officers face. Let me tell you; IT SUCKED! I was gasping and choking in addition to temporary blindness and that wasn't a deliberate shot in my face, it was a ricochet. But it was bad enough. Thanks to a firefighter who hosed me with saline I recovered quickly (pissed off, but back in the game). That citizen oddly enough disappeared after my Sgt. yelled at him when I took the shot from the dry chem.

That sounds about as friendly as my 340 loaded with Hornady XTP 158's. There's a reason it's primarily a BUG. It still gets shot a minimum of ten rounds a month no matter how painful.

But then my daily carry is a Kimber Custom Compact Aluminum (Gen 1) in 45 ACP. I guess both of us like putting our hand in the meat grinder.

my carries are all same platform...DA/SA or DAO. if it has a safety, safety is not engaged. all are carried in Wright OWB holsters. i try to keep it as simple as possible.

I primarily carry C (S&W Shield 9mm and the occasional LCP II), but I also carry B (Ruger LCR). I really don't have a preference I would feel comfortable carrying all of the above.

My Shield has a safety, but I don't use it. I'm okay with a safety (provided it stays out of the way) or without.

More and more I carry my 4" 686 with .357 158 grn PP rounds. I use a paddle holster that holds it close but you can see a lump. I don't care any more. a lump can me anything and it in no way looks like a gun even if to some its obvious to assume it is. No one has ever called me on it and I even had a LEO behind me in line at Wally World, nothing was said.

I feel very safe with my six best good friends. When I need more stealth I pocket carry my 642 with 38+p. Its a slight compromise but its enough I think to do the job.

I added to my daily carry 640 Pro Series .357 magnum on Friday. Since the 70s I've been a revolver guy only in .357. On Friday I purchased the New .380 M&P Shield EZ. Took her to the range on Saturday and she's a fun shooter. So now I have a Concealed Carry choice between my .357 J frame or my .380 Shield EZ. It's like the Almond Joy and Mounds candy commercial. "Sometimes you feel like a nut (.357) sometimes you don't (.380).

A on our property (Mod. 60 snubby)
B for cc when in public (Sig P290RS)

I carry various SA or DA/SA revolvers when hiking or hunting in the backcountry. That about covers it, except for occassional SA semiauto (1911) or G19 for target and defensive training.

As I respond to this question it is a single action .22 mag. Later today when I go into town, SA .45acp or S&W .44 special, sometimes both.

I alternate between a Glock 43, and a S&W Mdl. 60LS. It all depends on what I am wearing on a particular day.

B (DAO) and B (no safety). As long as we consider my MP2.0c a DAO ... Regardless of its classification, if I had to choose ONE, it would be this pistol (or the ... comparable G19).

Much as I love my wheelguns, I carry a bottom-feeder, either a Shield or a Compact 9. I'm better with the auto pistols. If the worst should ever happen, I want to be better.

Either Glock 43, Shield 45, M&P 340, or Springfield Range Officer Compact Elite in .45 ACP. Most of the time, the Shield 45 or the M&P 340.

At the moment, on the job, Glock 19X. Off the job, Kel Tec P-32 or P3AT, Glock 26, or S&W 442. Sometimes a NAA .22 WMR, occasionally a S&W 60-14 snubby . . .
