DeSantis Pocket Holster Warning - FYI
I’ve been using the DeSantis, Size 2, for my LCP and found the mag had popped out when I got home from running errands. Upon closer examination the gun slid down into the holster far enough that the muzzle hung past the bottom and the mag button was covered. I’m guessing when I sat down my jeans pressed into the holster and popped the mag out. Since I always check my weapon in the morning I know the mag was firmly seated. I wanted to post this as a heads-up for others.
I have a Talon hard leather pocket rig that is designed so this cannot happen but I wanted to try the DeSantis that I got in a trade.

Murphy. I have my share of semi autos. And the nagging feeling that year in and year out, a good wheelgun will work when a semi auto is having an off day.
Sometimes with a semi auto "one really is none". Just the reality.
Maybe the answer is two Glock 19s and suspenders?

Well aquainted w/Murphy b/c his law has bitten me a time or two. My usual EDC is a 340PD but needed to go super small today.

Old Cop, Bat Guano,
It is funny how many "old cops" carry a revolver. Just when I start thinking about an auto, one of you brings up Murphy. I guess that I will keep carrying the Model 649.

Almost as if they learned a thing or three OTJ.

Not a criticism, but it sounds as though the holster in question is generic (meaning not specifically fitted to a particular model/type of handgun)? If so, it's not surprising it may be too long for one gun but might fit another better. Good to find out the way you did instead of under more stressful conditions .

I have used the Nemisis for years and have never had a problem as long as the holster was for the pistol I was using. If you use a holster designed for the LC9S with a LCP the pistol will ride to far down in the holster and such things will happen. The holsters work great for what they are designed for not so good for other stuff LOL.

As for just local gallivanting the easiest/quickest thing for me to do is simply slip a small but nasty gun/holster in pocket.
I carried my .380 body guard for a while but since have replaced it with the much simpler Ruger LCR.38 with appropriate "social uses" rounds.

Pocket carry involves many issues. This is just one of them and may or may not be holster related.
The advice to get a fitted holster is a good one. Why people are so cheap about holsters is beyond me.

An obvious takeaway may be that carrying a revolver allows young cops to become old cops.

My fix, dont pocket carry?? Just me, even putting mags in my pocket w/o putting them in something seems like asking for a problem.

That's what always got me. People would spend good money on a gun and self defense ammo then get the cheapest holster and hang it on a cheap Walmart belt.

I own a handful of the Desantis Nemesis pocket holsters and never once had a issue with any of them. As long as you're using the correct holster for the gun, just because it fits, doesn't necessarily that will work for the gun. You have to match the model gun you have to the description/model on the tag on the plastic bag the holsters are sold in.
With that being said, all I carry are revolvers. 642 has been my EDC. No mag problems here!

Some people are also cheap about ammo. Say stuff like "My $850 MSR won't shoot El Cheapo Russian Steelcase". "I can't get 1/4 MOA with Golden Bullets. Both make me shake my head.
