Five (5) Vs Eleven (11) Carry Option(s)
The new Sig 365 I ordered finally arrived at my dealers on Monday. I now have two CCW options...5 vs 11. I have pictured my S&W Model 340 Gemini Custom two-tone 5 shot revolver (wearing Spegel Grips) with it's custom made (for me) alligator hide pocket holster with the new Sig 365 11 shot (10 plus 1) **(not allowed to have any 12 round magazines in New York because of the SAFE ACT)** with a Safariland black suede pocket holster. Their size is almost the same, with the Sig weighing a little bit more because of the ammo capacity. I always prefer revolvers, but this newest little Sig gives me a different option. I will still be carrying my Smith until such time as to when I get the Sig to the range to see how it shoots, then the decision will be made.

Why not both? You could have one in each pocket.

Nice choice! I pocket carry J frames and K frames and, literally, can pocket carry a CS-9 in certain pants. The SIG 365 certainly presents another nice option.

I think the 340 is the better choice for pocket carry. Similar footprints, but a significant weight difference between the two in a pocket. The Sig would be too heavy in that role for me. It may not be for you. Plus it would be more difficult to draw. The p365 would make a nice compact belt gun providing it's proven reliable and I would test it very thoroughly before carrying since I continue to see problems with it surfacing on the Sig forums.

I went with the Glock 26, also being from NY, and which is (to be really snarky) pretty much a 365. I never carried pocket, but I used to use a hybrid IWB at 5 o'clock before I decided to go 24/7 EDC. That method worked really well if I could wear a cover garment, but that doesn't jive with NY summers. If I bent over, my t-shirt would ride up, get pinched between my back and the pistol, and before long my gun would show, along with some plumber butt.
So I grabbed a Raven Concealment Eidolon, an injection-molded AIWB, and it's been great. No good t-shirt weather yet, but it conceals very well and is quite comfortable. The Eidolon's adjustable-enough that you could carry it IWB wherever you want.
And since it's open-bottomed with retention on the trigger guard, my 19/26 model will accommodate any 9mm/.40 Glock from the 26 to the 17L. And yeah--even the full-size long-barrel models are quite comfortable to carry. I can even sit comfortably with the 17-and-up models holstered.
No, none of this helps you, but--open your heart to IWB carry, and buy something nice to try out. That way, if you don't like it, you can hop on a forum and shift it easily for close to what you paid.

I shoot a revo well but shoot a semi better. Same size package, more rds, easier to shoot, win, win. A couple oz more in the pocket means little.
