May be of interest to Shield 9mm owners..??????
If you own a Shield 9 or are thinking of a Shield 9 you may be interested in this post.
If you don't you may wish to skip this one...you probably will have little interest.
Just wanted to highlight the Shield 9 with the Magguts +2 zeespring modifications.
I have no affiliation with Magguts..just one of their customers.
After 300 rounds now without any failure or hiccup with Speer Gold Dot and Federal HST 124 and 150 grain ammo I think this modification is worthy of consideration.
Here is how it looks.....and concealment is not altered what-so-ever and I carry AIWB.
Shield with 7 rounder and 8 rounder holding 9 and 10 rounds.
Both mags side by side compare.
Shield with 7 rounder holding 9 rounds. (10 total)

Not a problem at all....but would suggest wearing gloves as the zeespring insertion can cut your thumb as the ends of the springs are sharp......

I was running the original (2-Piece) MagGuts in my Shield since they came out, without any issues (well over 5K rounds). I converted a couple of my mags over to the Z-Spring version and have no problems with them either.
Installation of the Z-Spring is much easier than the original 2-Piece kit (basically, just removing the factory spring and inserting the Z-Spring), but can indeed poke your finger if not careful.
My main reason for originally trying the original MagGuts kit was not the thought of having 1 extra round, but for the ease of insertion/locking the mag in place without needing to 'slam it home' (even with that extra round).

Thank you. That’s why I would like to make this change as well. Especially my 7 round mag.

I installed the Maguts +2 in my 9mm Shield. I have no issues with the Gold Dot 124, however I had consistent FTF problems with the HST 147. I'm going back to the Gold Dot and may try the HST 124 at a later time.

Never tried the HST 147...The 124 has never given me a problem.

My apology should have responded sooner...
The magguts Z spring system comes with a new replacement spring new base plate and new follower. Just remove the old and insert the new following the directions for the correct spring orientation.

I have the old style +1 Magguts and the new +2 style with the "Z" springs. Both have been flawless. Gives me a warm fuzzy to be able to carry 9+1 with almost no increase in mag length.

I know others who also had/have the old two piece spring set and no one that I know is reporting any problems what-so-ever with them.
I like the single zeespring system. looks, feels and performs like a quality spring system.

Magguts
I used the magguts in my Kahr 380 and never had a malfunction. Guess it's time to get the new Z-Spring version for my Shield
