That's a nationwide restriction which has nothing to do with AL law. You can't carry in a post office or parking lot of a post office. Same with TVA property, Army Corp of Engineers property, federal court houses. Just about any federal building is off limits.

Alabama concealed carry
Alabama has some restrictions now. Courthouses, police stations, sporting/concert arenas that have "security" like turnstiles and metal detectors.
That's what some people call "Common Since".
There may be a few others

The only time I was asked for my License to Carry was on an Army Corp of Engineers jetty.
